Alice was holding a basket, while Piper put fruits from the trees and bushes from the garden in it. Alice decided to ask Piper about earlier.
"When did Cheshire scare you?" She asked. Piper jumped out of the tree, stood face-to-face with Alice(Even if Alice DID need, and ate a berry that he got from it.
"Ugh... poisoned." He marked the tree that he had been in with a sharp blade he apparently had in his pocket.
"Poisoned?!" Alice exclaimed. "You swallowed that berry!"
"Oh, I'm fine." He said calmly. "Poison doesn't affect me, I should have warned you." Alice nodded. After a while of more walking, Alice remembered her original question.
"So, when DID Chess scare you?" Alice lifted the basket for Piper to put a berry into it from the tree. Piper sighed in memory of that unfortunate time.
"I was holding some poisoned berrys to get rid of, and he decided to steal them(Without knowing that they were poisoned)." He sighed again. "Poor Chess got sick, and me and the queen needed to make an antidote to his stupid choice. I think that was one of the only times I ever saw Tarant faint, but I was VERY scared." He laughed weakly. Alice laughed at the thought of Hatter fainting. Alice then continued to ask questions.
"So, how did you and Hatter meet?" She asked him, while he was observing some fruit. "I was wondering."
"Well, I was a poison detector to my family's surprise, which got me a job for the princesses, and at some point me and Tarant both worked for the royal family, therefore we met each other. He pulled me out of a tree by my tail, thinking it was a huge feather." Piper sighed in a cold sweat. "After what happened with Iracebeth... I was sent to get help in Overland. Unfortunately, many refused to help us... so now that she's not evil anymore, I could come back, as Absolum told me. And I MUST thank you, I was told that you were the one who fixed all of that."
"Wait, you were there when the Red queen was told that she would not be queen... at the coronation?" Alice didn't remember seeing him.
"Aye, but not THERE at the coronation, I was making the cake for the celebration, choosing the best berries to put on top of it. Things got even more off when I had gotten news that Hatter was stuck at the tea table, because of 'Time'." He made a scrunched nose at one of the fruits, and took it off of the branch.
"Is there something wrong with that fruit?" Alice questioned. Piper sniffed it.
"It's fine, just a tad bitter compared to the rest." Piper said. After they finished, Piper got wine from the kitchen. To Alice's surprise, Piper drank an entire bottle of it on the spot.
"H-Hold on!" She said, trying to stop him. Piper pulled the bottle away from his face.
"What?" Alice furrowed his eyebrows, then looked at the wine bottle. "Oh this? Doesn't affect me either." He said, looking at the empty bottle sadly. He laughed under his breath "But give this to Tarant, and he'll be off the top of his head." He shook the bottle, and put it on the counter.
"In fact," Piper said, looking at the clock on the wall. "It's his 'sword fight practice time'. Funny that I can remember that after all this time."
Alice remembered, at that moment, that she told Hatter that they would practice sword fighting today. She said bye to Piper, and rushed to Hatter's house as quickly as possible.
