Levi is old enough to be his father, and I've always felt like Eren looked up to Levi as a fatherly figure or role model. Like someone he looks to for advice and guidance, not "OOH LEVI-SENPAI" "omg Eren ur so hot let's do the butt diddly doo"
and even if you feel like it's more romantic than a teacher-student relationship, how is it that half the entire fandom ships it too??? they're friends, f r i e n d s friends that's like shipping Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore, Dumbledore is Harry's TEACHER it doesn't matter if "he's been there for him all the time" or "they are really close" or "he's his inspiration" it's the bond of respect between a teacher and a student. no one is satisfied with platonic bonds W T F
