Anyone remember Don't Hug Me I'm Scared? I sure do, and I'm not forgetting it anytime soon
It's honestly one of the most disturbing things I've seen, with it's gritty graphics and creepiness
Tbh even scarier than FNaF (I've sort of learned to expect surprises and react apathetically to them so I guess I've trained myself to fear it less?) because I've only ever watched each video once.
All three DHMIS videos hit me really hard, and that's not just because of the gore. It's the underlying messages that get to me, for example I hate it when my creativity is limited, I have chronophobia (fear of time passing too fast) and I'm scared that no one will love me. It's really creepy because it doesn't just come out and say it, DHMIS hides it under cute puppet characters and a setup like a children's TV show (ever seen Blues Clues? Dora? Teletubbies? Barney? we all remember 'em) and it sort of gradually peels back the layers, but never completely. It's in the uncanny valley, I guess you could say.
But still I enjoy the videos (like c'mon I love FNaF even though it scares me, humans are attracted to things that are risky and frighten them) and the fandom too (even though I participate minimally)
That's it, later gators
