They were in a boarded off building, Dream's hands tied with rope behind his back as he sat on the floor. Schlatt paced back and forth, an arm ablaze. He didn't try to put it out, knowing the effort was futile. Stress coursed through his veins and was making it impossible to focus.

The occasional comment from Sapnap and Dream wasn't making it any better.

"You know I wasn't actually gonna kill you. Never got to use your DNA for anything fun."

"How sweet." Schlatt eye rolled. They fell into silence again.

"So what's with you and my brother?" Sap asked, "What do you want from him?"

"He's my boyfriend!" Schlatt answered, annoyed. Sapnap quieted, but seemed unsatisfied.

It was late in the night, and their mother was already asleep. She had work first thing in the morning, and it was already almost the next day. Midnight moons poked through the small holes in the shack, and Sapnap twisted onto his stomach to avoid looking directly at the beams of light.

He was about to fall asleep when something tugged on his sleeve. The boy flipped over, and saw the small wide eyed face of his brother. Quackity's face was tear streaked, and his sleek black hair was ruffled. Sap slid back slightly, making room for the child.

"Nightmare?"

A small nod from a small child.

"What about?"

Quackity curled up at his side, head tucked under his brother's chin. "Being alone." His voice was barely distinguishable, as Quackity's voice was a whisper.

"Oh you'll never be alone Quacks, I promise. Now go to sleep buddy, we get up real early remember?"

Sap felt a small nod against him. Before he could do it himself Quackity held onto one of his arms. Once the child was asleep he moved it over him.

"Love you Quacks."

Sap had the graveyard shift, and night fishing was difficult. Despite this, it was hella easier to catch the big fish.

He was just about to start descaling a cod when a horn sounded. It took a couple seconds for it to sink in. Someone else from the night shift said it best though.

"RAIDWEREALLGONNADIE!" The man shouted, just as a grey shark like creature sprang up from the ground and chopped him in half. Screams sounded all around Sapnap as he took off running away from the docks. Pillagers rushed from the forest, but he kept running inward. Quackity was home alone-

An arm yanked his behind a wall. They had shaggy light brown hair, and beautiful amber eyes.

"Are you his brother? Short little stubborn kid's brother?"

"That's shockingly accurate, but yes I have to get to him!"

The figure shook his head, "The kid's smart he started running away. Quackity is in my basement I'll take you too him-"

"Let's go!"

He felt immense gratitude for this stranger as he led him straight to a stone mason home, and down the stairs to a huddled Quackity.
