Chapter 17

*HAYES POV*

I was standing there after talking to Lindsey, trying to understand what she meant. She said this wasn't what she wanted? But yet she's the one who made this happen.

"Hey baby, I'm just gonna go home okay? You don't seem to feel very well but I'll call you tonight. I love you!" Emily kissed my lips and I gave her a hug.

"Bye Em, talk to you tonight love you too." I don't love her. Honestly I don't even like her that much but she is pretty and she has her perks but she's not Lindsey. I'm was almost over Lindsey but she just had to show up at my door. I decided to go to the skate park to take my mind off things. I changed into some football shorts and a Davidson Day football shirt. I headed out and was tempted to send Lindsey a message but I didn't.

I reached the skatepark and soon got lost in the ramps and rails and forget about Lindsey, Emily, and school.

*LINDSEY POV*

"Hi Jackson, I'm Lindsey. Sorry I didn't mean to run into you. I was also looking at my phone. I'm not use to other skaters looking at their phones too haha." He was super hot and here we were still so close. He wasn't anything like Hayes but he was still great. Anyways, Hayes has a girlfriend so why can't I have a boyfriend.

"You know Lindsey I haven't seen you before. Are you new around here?" We stepped away from each other and grabbed our boards and sat down to continue our conversation.

"Uhh not really. I moved here in July but I wasn't here for the first bit of school for other reasons but I've been going to Davidson Day for about 3-4 weeks now. What about you...where do you go to school." I figured we went to the same school considering I haven't seen another school around here yet.

"Yeah, I go to school with you. THATS RIGHT! I have first through fourth period with you in school. I guess I haven't been paying much attention. I usually would have noticed a beautiful girl like you already." I blushed. Did he just call me beautiful? HE. DID.

"Well Lindsey, would you wanna go to the skate park with me? I was headed that way before bumping into you." I still had 2 hours before I was going over to Shannon's.

"Sure that's cool with me. RACE YA THERE!!" I took off racing on my board to the skate park and I had a good lead on him. I had totally forgot about the incident with Emily and Hayes. Jackson was super sweet and he boarded. I was actually pretty happy he ran into me.

When we arrived it wasn't crowded at all so we started skating. Jackson was amazing at skate boarding! He could do all kinds of flips and tricks. I felt like I was pretty good but not THAT good. I told Jackson I need to sit down for a minute. My head was still pounding from earlier so I knew I didn't need to over do it.

I found a bench overviewing the skate park and I was watching everyone skate. That's when I saw him. Hayes. He was here. He wasn't with Emily or anyone but instead he was by himself. I knew I didn't want to see him so I got up and started skateboarding again. I was about to jump a rail when I saw Hayes look over at me and my board slipped out from under me.

BAM.

I hit my head and the ground and I soon couldn't hear anything and I was starting to loose my sight and then I looked to my left to see Hayes rushing towards me when...

*HAYES POV*

I looked over just in time to see Lindsey wipe out completely and hit her head on the ground. I saw some blood and I ran towards her. By the time I reached her she was completely unconscious.

"CALL 911 HURRY!" I screamed and then Jackson Crawlins came over to us.
What was he doing here? Oh yeah, he did skate a lot here. But how does he know Lindsey?

"Hey man, here help me lift her up and walk her over towards the road for when the ambulance gets here. Man I should have watched her more carefully, I knew she didn't look like she was feeling to well." I soon heard the sirens of the ambulance and I could see it round the corner. I lifted Lindsey up into my arms bridal style because I knew I didn't need help picking her up. I have carried her many times before.

The put her on the stretcher and asked if I would like to ride in the back with her. I agreed because I didn't want to leave her and guess who else decided to ride with us. Jackson.

When we arrived at the hospital Lindsey's mom was already there and went back into a room with Lindsey. She was still unconscious but I felt a little relieved knowing she was in a doctors care. Now time to get answers from Jackson.

"How do you know her?" I didn't realize the hate in my voice until I had already said something to him.

"Well we met earlier today. She seemed pretty cool so we decided to hang out at the skate park. How do YOU know her?" He could NOT date Lindsey. Jackson Crawlins was a player big time. He didn't deserve Lindsey.

"Because she's my girlfriend! Why don't you just go home? I think you've done enough today." Why did I just tell him Lindsey was my girlfriend. She's not, well not anymore. I wish she was but I'm not what she wants.

"Look dude my bad I didn't know. Shoot me a text when she wakes up. See Ya at school." He left without another word and I felt kinda bad because I was being kind of a jerk but he was not good enough for Lindsey.

In my eyes no one would ever be good enough for Lindsey. She was beautiful, smart, funny, she had a smile that made me be thankful for everything I had. I wanted her back in my life but I know she didn't want me. I was still thinking about Lindsey when my thoughts were interrupted by Lindsey mother.

"Hayes, Lindsey wants to see you...alone." I was excited that she was awake and asked to see me alone. I walked nervously down the hall and when I reached her room her mom said she was gonna go get some coffee. I walked in to see Lindsey laying there flipping through tv channels.

"Hey Lindsey...you called for me? how are you doing?" She looked tired and in pain but she was still the most beautiful girl I knew.

"Yeah, my mom told me you were waiting out in the hall and that you had stayed this whole time. I wanted to say thank you. And I'm doing better I feel a little bette I'm just tired." She raised up and I sat down in the chair by her bed.

"Oh it's no problem I just wanted to make sure you were gonna be okay. Did they say when you could go home?" I wanted things to go back to normal between us.

*LINDSEY POV*

I missed him so much. He obviously still cared because he had waited all this time in the hospital for me. How was I gonna tell him that I was staying with him for the next 3 days.

"They said I was good to go but we have to wait on your mom to get here."

"Wait why do they need my mom?" I could tell he was confused so I just blurted it out.

"Well I'm staying with you for the next three days because my parents have to go out of town." He looked kind of astonished but happy at the same time.

*HAYES POV*
