Wave (Sanhwa)

Chapter 16

It's been a couple of days since San's breakdown, the crew were now back on the ocean heading to their next destination. Although they were going to be on the waters much longer due to the distance of the next port, they would be on the waters for almost four weeks. Currently Hongjoong was steering the ship, Seonghwa standing next to him admiring Hongjoong's side profile. "Stop staring at me" Hongjoong glared at him before going back to focus on steering the ship. Seonghwa pouted sliding behind Hongjoong, wrapping his arms around the males waist as he rested his chin on top of the males head, "I can't help it, you're just so sexy when you're in your serious captain mode" Seonghwa chuckled. Hongjoong rolled his eyes a faint smile on his lips. "How is San doing?" he asked, glancing down at the deck where the said male was talking to Yunho as the two of them watched the waves. "He's fine, what happened shook him up but San is stronger than he looks" Seonghwa answered as he tore his attention away from San.

Hongjoong hummed, he turned around leaning his back against the wheel as his arms wrapped around Seonghwa's waist. "I have an idea, everyone's been so busy and tense, I want us to loosen up a bit" he said as Seonghwa looked down at Hongjoong. "What do you have in mind?" the blonde asked softly. Hongjoong smiled, "it's been a while since we got shit faced drunk on this ship, I say tonight we do that'' his smile widening. Seonghwa couldn't help but smile too, "that sounds perfect and I am sure Mingi will be more than happy to provide the entertainment" both men chuckled as they recall the times Mingi was drunk and started singing with Jongho joining him. "I'll go let them know" Seonghwa said, leaning down to kiss Hongjoong softly before leaving to go tell the rest of their crew about tonight's plans. Hongjoong watched as Seonghwa left, his eyes going over to San once again. Hongjoong glanced down at the seashell bracelet that adorned the males wrist a soft hum leaving his lips.

When night fell everyone was gathered on the deck. They had brought out empty crates to use as chairs and as a makeshift table to put the food on. Wooyoung and Yunho had brought out two huge barrels of rum, along with large glasses for everyone to drink out of. San was excited, he had never really tried alcohol and from what Wooyoung had told him earlier while the two males were preparing dinner, whenever the crew got drunk it always turned into a fun event. Plus, San was excited to hear Mingi's famous singing voice and listen to the male play guitar. Everyone settled down around the table, Wooyoung filling up the glasses to the brim with rum. Hongjoong picked up his glass, everyone following behind him lifting their glasses high as they stared at their captain. "Tonight we let loose, let's fill our bellies to the brim with food, and let's drink till we can't remember our names!" Hongjoong shouted out, a chorus of cheers following him as everyone clinked their glasses together.

Mingi and Wooyoung immediately began downing their drink, while everyone else sipped their drink normally. Yunho chuckled as he watched his two crewmates finish their glasses filling it up again, "there those two go" he said as he took another sip. San watched as everyone began drinking glancing down at his own drink in his hands. Yeosang noticed, "Not much of a drinker?" he asked San softly as he took a sip from his drink. San looked at him, blushing a bit out of embarrassment, "Honestly, no...I haven't really tried alcohol before" he admitted embarrassed. Yeosang chuckled, "I would say I am surprised but I'm not, it's not that bad once you get past the taste" Yeosang said, finishing his glass, handing it over to Wooyoung to fill ti back up. San nodded, bringing the glass to his lips taking a sip, he had to admit the taste wasn't for him, but something about the slight burn as it ran down his throat was nice. "Woah woah slow down" Yeosang chuckled as he watched San finish the whole glass.

Everyone else turned to San as he looked around blushing, "Sorry, it was really good" he mumbled. Wooyoung took the glass from him feeling it back up, "fuck yeah! Don't hold back tonight" he shouted as he handed the glass to San. Everyone chuckled and the drinking and eating continued. About an hour in, Wooyoung and Mingi were drunk, Mingi having brought out his guitar singing a well known sea shanty. Jongho who was drunk as well sang along with Mingi his arms around the taller males shoulders as they swayed from side to side screaming to the lyrics to the top of their lungs. Wooyoung had managed to convince Yunho to dance with him, the taller male tipsy but not anywhere near as drunk as Wooyoung as the two of them sang along spinning each other around. "I wanna dance too" San giggled, the mermaid had gotten drunk much faster than anyone else since he had never had alcohol before. San looked at Seonghwa the males eyes shining bright, "Dance with me Seonghwa" San said as he pulled the male's arms while he stood up.

Seonghwa shook his head, the blonde not as drunk as the others deciding someone needed to be somewhat sober to keep an eye on everyone. "I shouldn't" he muttered still sitting down. San quotes as he pulled Seonghwa's arm, "Please...Please...I wanna dance" he whined. For some reason when Seonghwa saw the look on San's face his heart clenched. San looked too cute with his face flushed red, and the pout on his lips as he whined. Seonghwa found himself getting up, San dragging him to the part of the deck where Wooyoung and Yunho were. San giggled as he began dancing, his legs a bit wobbly but he didn't care. He sang along to the song, his voice blending with the rest of his crewmates. When San stumbled almost losing his balance Seonghwa instinctively pulled San closer, wrapping his arm around the males waist. Seonghwa let San pull him wherever while the two dance a soft look in his eyes as he studied San's face. San was smiling wide, his dimples showing as he giggled his body following the music as he danced around with Seongwa.

San looked at Seonghwa their eyes meeting, San's smile grew wider, "remember when you asked me what I wanted to do if I was human?" he asked Seonghwa the blonde's own smile spreading as he nodded, "I do, you said you wanted to dance with me" he answered the two of them still swaying to the music. San's eyes sparkled as he looked at Seonghwa, "who knew dancing would be so much fun, I knew dancing with you was worth it" he squealed when Seonghwa spun him around. The two males in their own worlds as the rest of their crew watched them. Two pairs of eyes studying them much closer. Wooyoung and Yunho had decided to take a break, the males having tired out from dancing so much, but they were very much aware of how Seonghwa and San were looking at each other. Everyone was aware actually, Jongho glanced over at Hongjoong who was staring at the dancing pair, his expression blank. Yeosang was watching Seonghwa and San as well, something in his hurt burning as he watched how San stared at Seonghwa.

"I'm going to bed" Hongjoong muttered as he stood up, wobbling a bit due to him being a little drunk. "But captain we're just having fun" Wooyoung whined, but was silenced by Jongho putting a piece of bread in the males mouth. Hongjoong left the group heading to his bedroom. Once he got inside he sat on his bed running his fingers through his hair, his mind going back to his boyfriend and the male he was dancing with. San and Seonghwa returned soon after, Seonghwa still having a firm grip on San's waist since the male was stumbling as he walked. When Seonghwa noticed Hongjoong was missing he turned to his crew members, "Where's Hongjoong?" he asked. "He went to bed" Yeosang was the one to answer, his tone bitter as he glared at Seonghwa's arm around Man's waist. "Go talk to him, captain seemed upset" Yunho spoke next as he stood up carefully taking San away from Seonghwa. Seonghwa nodded as he left heading to Hongjoong's room.

"Where is everyone going? The night is still young?" San mumbled leaning against Yunho with a pout on his face. "Alright, I think we should all return to bed" Yunho chuckled. Yeosang stood up walking over to the two, "i'll take San to his room, I know you and Mingi have some drunk sex planned" Yeosang smirked giving Yunho a teasing wink. Yunho blushed as he rolled his eyes, "whatever" he mumbled as he helped Mingi up, the tall male leaning on Yunho kissing his neck softly, "you smell so good" he mumbled as the two of them left to their room. Wooyoung and Jongho were already in a heated drunken make out session, so Yeosang just left them there as he brought San to his room. Yeosang gently placed San on his bed, removing his shoes before tucking him under the covers. By the time San's head hit his pillow he had already passed out. Yeosang chuckled, as he sat on the bed watching San settle into bed, his breaths evening out. Yeosang looked around San's room, the shelf of the males knick knacks catching his attention. Yeosang stood up walking over to them, his eyes immediately going to the figurine of two people dancing. Yeosang carefully picked it up, admiring the carvings, "this looks like..." he trailed off as he stared at the figurines details more closely.

Yeosang glanced back at San before looking back at the figurine, the image of San and Seonghwa dancing running through his mind. "Is this...Seonghwa and San" he muttered to himself as he looked the figuren over once more. Yeosang put it back on the shelf, "what is going on between those two" he muttered as he left San's room heading to his own. As Yeosang headed to his room, he stopped when he heard Seonghwa's and Hongjoong's voices. "It's San isn't it, San is the person you said you had to leave behind, the person you said was your first love" Hongjoong's words caught Yeosang's attention the brunette leaning his ear against the door to listen.
