Manager Maknae (ChaeTzu / ChaeYu)

Chapter 7. A Start...I Guess

It has been a solid 8 months since Tzuyu started working at TWICE Entertainment and Nayeon is about to have a big comeback with no real date yet. She's become so popular that people even begin to recognize her and Jeongyeon as her managers. Even before she was Nayeon's manager people would call her pretty but now she's known as Manager Pretty, others call her Manager Maknae because of how young she is. 

"Ha, I'm called Manager Girl-crush!" Jeongyeon laughed as she read some comments in a post of a the two of them with Nayeon.

"They call me Manager Pretty or Manager Maknae," Tzuyu told Jeonyeon and she snorted at that.

"Ya know what, I'm going to call you Manager Yoda," The older girl laughed whole-heartedly, "That name is the most accurate."

"Yeah? I'm going to call you Manager Ostrich," Tzuyu replied as she stuck out her tongue.

"You guys saw all your nicknames, huh?" A familiar voice said and they turned to see Son Chaeyoung.

They were all currently in a meeting room at HQ because Nayeon and Jihyo had something big to announce. Chaeyoung was surprisingly well-dressed and it made Tzuyu's heart hammer her insides harder. The short girl was wearing a red shoulder-less dress with a collar and a leather belt around her waist. Her hair was down and wavy and she appeared to be wearing a decent amount of make up and earrings.

"Oh? What's the occasion?" Jeongyeon asked as she sat down across from Tzuyu.

"I'm going to my friend's wedding later," Chaeyoung smiled, "She's getting married pretty young and is only having a small wedding. Her parents don't like the guy she's marrying because he's 'unrealistic' and 'not of higher standing.'"

"Oh? Was she born into a rich family?" Jeongyeon asked and she nodded, "Damn, that's rough...wait, Tzuyu, aren't you rich?"

"Huh?" Tzuyu asked, she was caught up in her thoughts of what Chaeyoung was wearing that she didn't hear a thing.

"Tzuyu, you're rich?" Chaeyoung asked and in her head she put everything together about how Tzuyu has such high end appliances and doesn't know how to cook well. 

"I, I wouldn't say I'm rich..." Tzuyu says quietly, "My parents own some stuff here and there...and they helped me financially until I could get on my own two feet...they send some gifts once in a while..."

"...so you're rich, wow, ok then," Jeongyeon nodded and clapped the younger one's shoulder, "Please treat me."

"Eh? I'm-" Tzuyu sputtered and Chaeyoung laughed but before Tzuyu could finish, the door opened and Nayeon and Jihyo entered.

"Hello everyone!" Jihyo greeted them and they returned the gesture with greetings and waves of their own.

"Where are the others?" Nayeon asked, a hint of annoyance in her eyes.

"We're here!" The idol and CEO turned to see a running Dahyun, Sana, Momo, and Mina, "The boys needed help with unloading their equipment."

"Ah ok then, let's get down to business then..." Jihyo announced and they all entered the room and sat down in an empty chair, except for her and Nayeon.

"My comeback date is April 20th," Nayeon announced and the others gasped and clapped happily for the idol.

"Four twenty, huh," Jeongyeon asked shaking her head with a smile.

"Whatchya smokin'?" Sana laughed and the others joined.

"Next weekend, we are to have a ball!" Nayeon announced raising her hand and pointing her index finger with importance.

"...A ball?" Mina asked and Nayeon furiously nodded her head with dignity. 

"There will four oppas and four unnies, and God Jihyo," Nayeon announced and they all frowned, "We'll pick lots on who gets to be an oppa and who gets to be an unnie."

"You can't be serious..." Chaeyoung asked, rolling her eyes.

"Oh but I am!" Nayeon said attempting to achieve a grace that only Mina possessed and twirling behind the shorter girl. "This is going to be fun...now, before I continue, let us draw lots!"

And with that, Nayeon took out popsicle sticks from her pocket and explained what they are. The regular brown sticks are oppas, the red tipped sticks are unnies. Nayeon hid the tips from the others as they picked and when they all picked, they revealed themselves to each other.

Oppas: Nayeon, Dahyun, Tzuyu and Mina

Unnies: Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, Momo and Sana

"Huh, ok then," Momo said and took out a bag of onion flavored chips from thin air.

"So does that mean Oppas have to dress up as dudes and unnies have to dress up as well, gals?" Sana asked.

"Well yes, but this ball is no ordinary ball!" Nayeon announced, "It's a decade ball! We'll be paired off and chosen to represent a certain era's fashion...starting...with the 1920's and ending at the 1990's. Of course not eras will be represented because there are only four couples but eh...choices. On each stick, you have an era and the person you have the same era as...is your partner."

They all looked at each other's sticks and it was like a miracle:

Nayeon and Jeonyeon - 1960s

Chaeyoung and Tzuyu - 1980s

Sana and Dahyun - 1920s

Momo and Mina - 1950s

"Wait so...this is like a dance through the decades and Jihyo like...babysits us?" Tzuyu asked confused yet also elated by the fact that she's with Chaeyoung.

"Yeah basically," Jihyo chuckled, "Or I'll try and disrupt a couple."

And so, there fates have been sealed and they all part ways but before Nayeon, Jeongyeon, and Jihyo could leave, Tzuyu pulls them aside.

"What are you guys plotting?" Tzuyu stared down at her three unnies.

"This is your chance, Tzuyu," Nayeon insisted, "You can tell her how you feel!"

"Be bold like my No-Jam bro," Jeongyeon punched her shoulder lightly, "She's still pretty oblivious to your feelings for her."

"And her feelings for you," Jihyo added and they all stared at her incredously, "Yeah she talked to me the other day about Tzuyu and asked if she likes you and she said that she knows Tzuyu likes someone but she doesn't think it's her."

"Huh...then, this is a start...I guess?" Tzuyu stood there quietly wrapping her head around the possibility of her crush liking her back.

"Well, we better make sure you don't mess it all up then, huh? "Nayeon wiggled and eyebrow and they all smiled smugly at the Maknae.

"Eh~?"
