Manager Maknae (ChaeTzu / ChaeYu)

Chapter 2. The New Norm

It's been a month since Tzuyu started working at TWICE Entertainment as Nayeon's newest manager and she has never been this busy in her life. She has to make sure that Jackson has the transportation ready or check the schedules for the day and the upcoming days constantly in case something changes and with all of that, she has to travel with the idol everywhere. Now, she doesn't dislike it. There's a thrill to it all because 1) she can't fail and 2) the people around her make things a little easier. Jeongyeon tries not to put too much on her just yet while also maintaining her own roles. Nayeon is supportive and helpful and the others give her advice and tips on how to do things. In her free time, she texts or calls Chaeyoung and the two just ask about each other's day and send each other memes or selfies or animal pictures. Out of all the people she met, Chaeyoung was the one she got along with fast. She learned that she likes to draw and listens to a wide variety of music, some of which are in English. She finds Chaeyoung interesting not because of her interests but her personality: she appears to be all soft, cute, and has numerous facial expressions but she's actually decisive, strong, and brazen. She's seen the girl in action when Nayeon has to get ready for a performance or a show or photoshoot and it's no wonder she's the hair, makeup, AND clothing stylist. Tzuyu on the other hand was not as decisive. She found herself hesitant at times and found it a little frustrating that she couldn't choose stuff like what she should wear or what she should eat or how she should respond. Sometimes she panics and just says things and might accidentally mispronounce something. Luckily, that's only ever happened with the people close to her so they understand and just smile. 

Right now, they're preparing for Nayeon to go onto Knowing Bros. They arrive at the studio and go into one of the rooms in the back. Chaeyoung is already there setting everything up and shooing away the other makeup artists who came in. The other makeup artists gave up on trying to deal it out with Chaeyoung but since she felt bad for being so aggressive, Chaeyoung apologized to them before they left.

"Ha, you're like a baby beast aren't you?" Tzuyu chuckled as she watched Chaeyoung do Nayeon's hair. 

"HA HA! What's funny is that that is exactly what we call her!" Jeongyeon snickered and Chaeyoung glared at her.

"Aw, that's cute..." Tzuyu found herself thinking out loud and then blushing.

Jeongyeon shook her eyebrow vigorously and the two girls both turned into deep shades of red. Nayeon laughed and joined Jeongyeon in the teasing of the younger two. When Chaeyoung was done styling her hair and makeup and Nayeon was dressed in her school girl outfit, they all left the room. When they got to the set, they greeted the staff and the other members of the Knowing Bros cast. While Nayeon was rehearsing and going everything with the cast and directors, they stood nearby and watched her. Tzuyu looked over to Jeongyeon and saw something strange in her friend's eyes...admiration? Infatuation? She couldn't wonder for too long because Chaeyoung came by with cups of coffee and broke them both out of their thoughts. 

"So, you've been working for over a month now," Chaeyoung looked up to the taller girl and smiled. 

"Ha ha, yeah," Tzuyu returned the smile, "It's been interesting."

"It really has...have you ever been to the zoo?" The shorter girl asked.

"Ah, no, I've been wanting to but I haven't found the time or I spend my free time resting," Tzuyu chuckles.

"Well, Mina, Momo and I will be going together on Saturday," Chaeyoung explained, "We don't know about Sana or Dahyun but do you want to come?"

"Uh yeah, that's the one day Nayeon doesn't have anything so I can go," The taller girl replied.

"Ah, you're inviting Tzuyu so you won't be a third wheel, huh?" Jeongyeon teased.

"Shut up, do you and Nayeon want to come too?" Chaeyoung scowled at first. 

"Nah, Nayeon wants me to help her with something," Jeongyeon said rubbing the nape of her neck, "Something about helping her reorganize her apartment."

"Ha, whipped," Chaeyoung snickered.

"Whatchya talking about, Strawberry Shortcake?" The older girl said as she pulled the younger girl into a headlock.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't harm my child and 3-in-1 coffee!" Nayeon said as she approached them trio.

"3-in-1 coffee?" Tzuyu let out a chuckle and the smaller girl groaned at the sound of her other nicknames.

The quartet talked up until Nayeon had to start shooting with the rest of the cast. After about two hours of shooting, Nayeon was finally able to leave. The four of them ate lunch together at a nearby bar, Nayeon was disguised. They then continued on to the afternoon photoshoots the young idol had to go through. After a tiring afternoon, they were all free and went their separate ways. That night Tzuyu found herself dreaming a certain girl a head shorter than her. She dreamed of her smile, her eyes, and her laugh. She felt her heart racing so fast that she woke up.

"What...was that?" Tzuyu asked, breathing somewhat heavily as she tries to calm down her heart and relieve herself a strange feeling in her gut.

A dream...just a dream...
