Chapter 7

In the library.
Sera's POV:

Remi, Blyke, Isen and I saw the door open to see Arlo. I was visibly pissed. Remi was upset. Blyke was neutral. And Isen was nervous and sweating.

"Hey, Isen" Arlo asked Isen.

"Y-Yeah?"

"Can you come with me? I think we need to have a chat"

"Uhhh.... Sure?" Isen replied nervously still sweating. When Isen got up, Remi and I got up and hold Isen by his shoulders. Which made Blyke stand up because he can tell there was a lot of pressure building up.

"Actually, I think we need to be the one having the chat with you" I said to Arlo.

"And what would that be?"

"It would be about John" Remi said to Arlo's question.

Upon hearing that question, Arlo immediately glared at Isen which made him extremely scared.

"Just to let you know, Isen didn't tell John anything about you or your plan at all" I said defending Isen.

"Yeah, actually, John told us everything about your recent actions" Remi continued.

"Tsk" Arlo said annoyed.

"Hey, be quiet or get out" the Librarian screamed.

"Let's go outside and talk first" Blyke said.

"Alright" Me and Arlo said.

Outside the Library
Third Person POV:

"So what else do you want to talk about? John told you guys about everything, right?" Arlo said.

"Almost" Remi said.

"Not really almost" Sera said.

"Arlo, can you tell us why the hell were you planning to ambush John?" Remi said not caring about what Sera said.

"Well for one, he is someone mysterious." Arlo said.

"What do you mean?" Remi said.

'To be honest, John has been a bit mysterious and cold recently' Sera thought.

"Well, it started with him bumping into me. Usually, low-tiers are going to be cowering in fear if they ever bump into a high-tier. But John, a supposed cripple, showed no hint of fear. Which was something off. More importantly, I bumped into him again and saw his grades which were barely average. That was when I felt something off. So, using Isen, I did some background checking. Found out he was a high-tier."

"Doesn't explain the plan though." Remi said.

"Yeah, and why involve me?" Sera questioned.

"If you haven't notice, recently, I found out that some people weren't in line with the hierarchy." Arlo said glaring at Sera. Sera glared back.

"And you should know that if more people leave the hierarchy, it would be chaos. Everything has been stressful as it is. As a royal, I need to upkeep the hierarchy. Hell, I shouldn't even be the king. John is supposed to be king. Yet he refuses to take his place. He refuses to be responsible." Arlo continues.

"But what gives you the right to put who in what's place?" Remi said slightly angry..

"And why involve me?" Sera questioned.

"If I tried to befriend John, you would immediately know I am up to something. Your involvement would be my obstacle." Arlo said to Sera.

"Understandable" Sera said.

"And Remi. Like I said, hierarchy is order. It is a natural thing. John is supposed to be king but he is rejecting his-"

"Arlo"

"What?" Arlo said to Remi who cut her off?

During the time, Isen and Blyke just watched the situation. While Sera is in her own mind thinking mostly about John. Isen's eyes caught Sera distracted by her own thoughts.

'Seraphina is probably thinking about John. Like what could his secret be?' He thought.

Back to Arlo and Remi.

"By any chance, do you know why John is rejecting his position as king?" Remi questioned Arlo. Which made Arlo caught off guard. It was apparent that Arlo never thought about it.

"So what? That is irrelevant to the fact he is-"

"No. It has everything to do with why John chooses to play as a cripple." Remi cut Arlo off.

"And how?" Arlo questions.

"Arlo, why are you so stubborn? Clearly John has an important reason for why he rejects his position as king. Yet you keep pushing your ideals onto him. Maybe if the hierarchy was as good as you believe, he wouldn't be running away from it." Remi said.

"Whatever, I am done with this useless argument. I am leaving." Arlo states then leaves with Holden who was waiting for him.

"Did you hear anything?" Arlo asks Holden.

"Huh?"

"About our conversation"

"No, not at all. Was I supposed to?" He replies

"No, you weren't supposed to, let's go then"

Meanwhile with Sera, Remi, Blyke and Isen.

"I can't believe how stubborn he is. What an ass" Remi says.

"Yeah, he kind of reminds me of what I thought of John when we first met" Sera said.

"You sure John is okay?" Blyke asks Sera.

"Yeah, he is probably sleeping." She replied.

"Well then, lets go back to the library then." Isen said.

"Yeah, I still need to practice for the upcoming quiz" Blyke states.

Meanwhile nearby

"So John is a God-tier? Interesting... I should probably report this to Cecile."

Hey, HKDSE ended like a while ago. Kinda forgot I had a Fanfic. But now I guess we can continue on with the story.
