Maybe I have it worse?
You can leave the memories in those walls
And they'll remain there forever
But everytime I see the ocean...
I'll see a little bit of you
I'll see you sitting in the sand
On that military issued poncho
That saved us one too many times
I'll see you
Digging through the sand
Because I lost my phone
Near the log we shared,
And when the dogs run up and down the beach
I'll remember the stories of your dad
And the small smile on your face
As you talked about him
And how his hands
Had to graze through the fur
Of every single dog that
Zoomed on by,
When I see the ocean
I'll see the same sunrise
From the night after
Our very first time
And I'll see the same sunset
From that morning of tears
And loneliness
When I could no longer call you mine...
