I checked the watch again, ‘Stop it or you will break it’ Mum said. She was so careful about the money that we never got to go anywhere until somehow my sister-who is now married- managed to convince her to go to America with them and my brother-in-law even got me a pocket watch a few days ago. It had a golden edge and a beautiful, long chain attached to it with a dolphin key chain. This was the best thing ever. Even though we were middle class Mother was still careful and strict to EVERYTHING.
A few hours later I went to the dining hall to get a little snack when the ship started rocking gently. I nearly thought that this was my last move. I brushed the thought off as I said to myself that 'ships always rock now and then as they are on the sea'. I wish that my thought was true...
