"Alastor?"

The door hit the wall as the wind blew through the open window. My knees started to buckle and I held onto the doorframe to steady my stance. The room was empty. I was sure I saw him, a shadow perhaps, with a curling smile, or.. at least something that resembled him in some kind of way. I clutched the fabric over my heart, the aura I felt was too off-putting, I'm sure it couldn't have been him. I shut the door just in case and used some of my magic to make my bag float to the side of my bed. I glanced at the time - 6:28. Great, just in time for dinner. I smoothed down my clothes and turned towards the door to open it.

"Ngh-" I grunted quietly as I get knocked to the wall. The air escaped my lungs and I gasped quietly. I weakly opened one eye and my pupils shrank.

"Hello, dear~"

His tall body and strong posture only intimidated me more, his arm pressed against the wall to my side. My eyes dared to his hand to check for a weapon, yet no staff or a knife was seen. I trembled is a saw the cracks in the wall form from his fist pushing harder into the wall. I don't resist.

"Good idea." He mumbled. I looked away from his face, eyeing the door, but his hand was quick and it held my jaw in place. "My, why won't you look at me? I thought I was quite the charmer." I squinted, hearing a buzzing noise. How did I not notice it before? Or was it not there? Thoughts raced my mind as I tried not to look at him. "Why don't we open up those pretty eyes of yours?" No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't resist opening them.

"What..?" I whisper.

I have to use something to help me. But what? My magic? Wouldn't that be stupid? Considering his abilities, of course it would be! Come on, Y/N, think! There was nothing I could do, I believed it was a life or death situation. And who wouldn't think so too, if they were standing where I was? Now I just have to make.. make an important decision, I-

You made a mistake.

I reached out towards him, my hand glowing F/C. What was I doing? I should've tried to escape, put him to sleep, shut my eyes! WHY IN GOD'S NAME WAS I ATTACKING? I managed to shut one eye, scared of looking into his crimson ones, my hand shaking, clearly weakened. He simply smacked my hand away and pinned my shoulder to the wall, but more gently than what he was capable of doing. But he lost his guard, and I used my other hand and grabbed his arm. He hissed as his left arm lazily hung by his side. My breathing was heavier, and I tried moving beside him.

He wrapped something around me. It clearly wasn't his arm or anything I could think of really. But it was strong, incredibly strong, a tight grip that made it impossible for me to get out of. It was a thick black tentacle, emerging from an abyss that opened up below me. I began choking back sobs, tears running down my cheeks. None of this was meant to happen.

I thought he had left until I finally felt his hand on my face yet again, I tried pulling away, but to no avail. His thumb wiped away a tear, and he took back his hand to inspect it.

The secret is out.

"Ho ho, you made me run around for the first time in a while, dear!" He chuckled, a faint echoey laughter ringing around him. My head drooped down in silence, as I feared what would happen next. I heard his footsteps becoming distance, was he just planning on leaving me here? As a doll? A plaything? Angel Dust likes playthings. Maybe they're working together? Working against me? To my surprise, the grip on my body loosened the slightest bit, and I inhaled the air I so needed.

"How-"

"How long did I know?" He looked back at me without turning his face, a Cheshire grin splitting his face. "Well, my darling," He swung at thin air and caught his staff mid-appearance, "I've known for quite a while. At least long enough to piece together what it is you're doing here!"

I stood there in confusing, but the memory flooded back to me. It had to be my training, or perhaps...

My eyes glossed up with tears, and I looked to the side in embarrassment and disappointment - I deserved this for making so many mistakes. I hope he doesn't ask me about Father.

"Now, I believe that either two of my spectacular theories are correct. Are you listening closely?" I nod, my hair bouncing. He cracked his knuckles, "Number one! You, are on a undercover mission as an Angel guard, for.." he tapped his chin in thought. "Perhaps the princess herself! I heard she's quite a lady." I didn't react.

"Number two! You are a simple angel that either fell down here, or has committed a crime against the Ruler of Heaven." He turned on his heel to stare at me. I stared back. His eyes narrowed and his smile grew further. He leaned right beside my ear, his hands neatly put behind his back. "Am I correct?" I continue my silent charade. "I'll take that as a yes!" The thing that held me in place slithered back into the ground through a dark void I sensed, and I stood in a a wide position, testing if my legs could hold me. He threw his cane up to get a better hold of it and then tilted it, pointing it towards my face. "I won't ask you for now, as that would not nearly be a gentlemanly deed." He strutted away through my door. I was in awe. I waited until I couldn't hear his footsteps anymore, and fell completely to the ground. I grabbed a pillow that was thrown on the floor and screamed into it. I screamed and screamed until tears stained the material. I screamed until my voice and throat hurt, until my lungs couldn't take it anymore.

I leaned against the bed frame and shut my eyes hard. I let go and relaxed.

One breath in.

One breath out.

What have you done?

I glanced at my hands. Not only were they shaking, but the tips of my fingers have turned a dark gray. My eyes widened. Fat tears rolled down and hit my palms, pooling up and raining down my wrists. I make a face and hug my knees. That's it.

I have gone too far this time.
