I twisted the knob and the door opened to reveal a tall handsome boy.
"Hey" he said with a smile on his face.
I smiled back "hey" I said opening the door wider so he could come in. "I hope the directions I texted you weren't to confusing." I said sheepishly grinning.
He laughed as we walked in the door. "Not at all. I mean I'm here aren't I?" He said shrugging his shoulders.
My eyes had been glued to the wall behind Adam and when I my gaze finally met his I took in his appearance. He was wearing some old faded blue jeans and a black button down shirt.
I watched as his eyes looked me up and down. I subconsciously looked down and felt an instant feeling of regret and embarrassment when I realized what I was wearing.
I was way overdressed. I sighed heavily and our gazes met once again.
A warm blush found it's way onto my face. "I'm sorry." I stuttered. "I shouldn't have put this on. I'll go change really quick." I turned around so I could slip up the stairs quickly but a hand seized my wrist.
"You look amazing" was all he said.
I looked back down at myself still blushing and couldn't even form a coherent thought. If I got this flustered when he said that then tonight was going to be a nightmare.
He cleared his throat interrupting me from my thoughts. "We should probably get going. The movie is going to start soon."
And with that I nodded, grabbed my jacket and opened the door for him to walk out onto the porch. I locked the door behind me and followed him to a black truck that was sitting in my driveway. He turned to glance at me and held the passenger door open for me.
I smiled as I climbed in and shut the door behind me. I took at second to look around the truck.
It was unusually clean for a guys car. I smiled when I saw a stack of Cd's sitting in the back seat and picked one of them up.
I heard the drivers side door close and looked up and my eyes met his. He smiled and looked down at my hand.
"Sorry, it's kind of a mess back there" he said as he started the truck.
I let out a nervous laugh which sounded more like a sigh. "Are you kidding me? This is probably the neatest I have ever seen a guys truck before."
He started to pull out of the driveway and turned the radio up so it was softly playing. My eyes widened in surprise when I realized what song it was. A smile spread across my face.
"I didn't know that you liked Sum 41" I said side glancing at him.
He smiled and laughed lightly. "Yeah. I like them." He said simply his green eyes piercing into mine.
I turned to look out the window and saw the sun slowly starting to set in the distance. I closed my eyes and starting humming softly to myself.
I heard and faint voice next to me. I focused in on and and Adam was singing. Very quietly, but he was singing.
I smiled when I could hear him clearly. He was good. His voice was in perfect harmony with the stereos soft murmur.
The song ended and I turned to face Adam. A huge smile spread across my face.
"And you certainly didn't tell me you could sing either." I said raising my eyebrows at him.
His head quickly whipped around so he was looking at me. "You heard that?" He asked sounding embarrassed.
I laughed quietly. "Yes. You have an incredible voice." I said looking down.
A blush spread across his face and he cleared his throat. "I'm really not good."
I looked at him like he was crazy then I turned back to the window. "You're insane. You know?" I looked back at him.
He just shook his head and smiled. "We're finally here." He said cutting off the engine.
I unbuckled my seat belt and hopped out of the car. By the time I got out and shut the door, Adam was already standing by my side.
"Ready?" He asked looking down at me.
"Yup." I said, popping the P. He began walking to the entrance and I quickly caught up and fell into step with him.
The theater was a small old building right in the middle of downtown Franklin. Lights illuminated the streets and couples were walking all around the town.
We walked up to the ticket window outside. Adam was about to get the tickets until he looked at me giving me a disapproving look.
"What?" I asked confused.
He sighed. "You have to go stand over there so you don't know what movie we're going to see. It's going to be a surprise. Duh." He said rolling his eyes playfully.
I narrowed my eyes at him and began to walk to stand by the door. "Fine." I said turning my back.
I stood by the door and watched as people walked by. It was such a beautiful summer night. The moon hung high in the sky and the warm breeze surrounded me.
I jumped when a pair of tickets were being waved in front of my face.
I heavy sigh escaped my lips. "Did you really have to scare me half to death?" I asked sarcastically.
He laughed and grabbed my hand. "I didn't know it would scare you that bad. But you have to admit, your face was priceless."
I lightly shoved his shoulder with my free hand. "Was not funny." I said laughing.
He let go of my hand and opened the door leading into the cinema.
We walked inside looking for the number above the doors which indicated our theater.
His eyes lit up when he saw the concession stand.
"Do you want me to get us some popcorn or a drink?" He asked slipping his hand back into mine.
A blush made it's way onto my face once again. "Umm..Well, aren't we going to eat after this?" I asked.
"Oh yeah. I almost completley forgot about that. Do you want a drink though?" He asked looking down at me smiling.
"I'll just get a water I guess." I said as I started leading him in the direction of the concession.
"Alright. I'll just get that really quick." He said letting go of my hand and walking up to the cashier.
He walked back to me with two drinks in his hand. He handed mine to me and we began walking to the theater.
