Well, this is the first story I have written and published on here so I'm going to go ahead and say it's probably going to be a little rocky and rough but bare with me alright? I would love to get advice or pointers from you guys if you think the story is missing something or just isn't going in the right direction. I like feedback, good or bad so give it to me if you have it. Since this is my first published story I'm going to try it out for a while. At least get a couple of chapters out there and if it receives positive feedback then I will keep it going. If not then I can just start over with a totally different story line. Whatever works. So here it goes... Chapter one.

"Mom, I'm going to go out for a while" I yelled from my room before checking my reflection in the mirror one last time before leaving my room. My blond hair was straight and my bangs fell just above my bright blue eyes that were lined with black eyeliner. I was wearing my usual outfit for the weekend. A pair of black skinny jeans with a tight fit band shirt which was You Me At Six finished off with my pair of checkered vans. I grabbed my purse and threw my phone and wallet in before shutting my door.

I walked down the stairs and smiled at my mom before grabbing an apple from the kitchen counter. She was sitting at the table looking intently at the paper.

"Mom, I'm going out for a drive and I'll be back later." She looked up and jumped when she saw me.

"I didn't even see you come in. You almost gave me a heart attack Chelsea!" my mother laughed.

I gave her a sheepish grin "Sorry mom, I didn't mean to scare you."

"You didn't scare me. So where are you going and when do you think you will be back?" she asked.

"Umm.. I'm not sure where I'm going yet actually. I was just going to go out for a drive. And not sure when I will be back." I answered.

"Well, that's fine sweetheart. Just call when you are on your way home so I know when to start dinner. OK?"

"Ok, mom." I kissed her cheek and started out the door. "Bye, mom. Love you." I yelled as I walked out the door.

"Bye, honey! Be careful please." Her sad eyes stared back at me when she said this. I gave her a weary smile and mouthed "I will" before shutting the front door.

My mom hasn't always been this way. Now, she was as involved as she could get and was always spending as much time with me and my brother Jeremy as she could. The reason she is like this?

My older brother Matt died a year ago in a car wreak. I was in the car with him and so was Jeremy, my other older brother, heat Matt were twins. It was late and dark. Played out like your typical car crash. Matt and Jeremy came to pick me up from band practice because me car was in the shop. We were almost home stopped at a stop sign. It was clear and Matt went. Suddenly, a car came flying down the road on the drivers side of the car. It all happened so quickly that I couldn't exactly register what was happening from the back seat of his car. I saw the headlights, I felt Matt slam on the breaks, I heard the horrific screeching of the tires then everything went black. I woke up the next day in the hospital. My eyes fluttered open and quickly shut when the bright white walls burned them. I looked down at my arms which were covered in bruises and cuts. My left arm was in a cast and IV's were everywhere.  I lookedto see my parents staring at me with wide eyes that were blood shot and looked like they had been crying for days. They rushed to the side of my bed and my mother instantly began crying. They were both speaking so quickly that is was incoherent. There were a few words I could make out of their slurred sentences. The words "We Love You" "I'm so happy that your ok" "Oh thank God" "We thought we lost you". The last one frightened me. What exactly happened last night that had them so worried? I quickly remembered that I was in a car last night with Matt and Jeremy. I sat up and whipped my head around to face my parents. I looked my mom straight in the eye and asked her "Where are Matt and Jeremy" concern was apparent in my voice and I was frightened at how scratchy and awful my voice sounded. My mothers eyes welled up with tears and my dad told her to go sit in the hallway. She did as he told and looked at me one last time before leaving the room. My dad looked at me and let out a heavy sigh. I could tell he had been crying and he was never one to show his emotions. His eyes looked into mine and he held my hand and began.
