I have been kind of busy the past couple of days to sorry for the delay in updating. I'm not really in the writing mood right now but, I feel like doing something productive so here I go. Chapter 3.

The car ride home seemed to take forever. A million different things were taking over my mind right now and I could barely concentrate.
I finally reached my driveway and practically sprinted to my front door. I ran inside and reached the second step on the stairs before being called into the kitchen by my mother. I let out a groan of frustration and made my way to the kitchen.
"Hey, mom." I said poking my head around the corner. "Did you need me?" I asked hoping that she didn't.
"Actually" she started. "I just wanted to see if you were up to joining Jeremy, your father and I for dinner?" She asked hopefully smiling at me.
"Oh, well mom. Actually I was going to go out with a friend." I said giving her a sheepish grin. "But, I can cancel it I guess." I could tell by the look on her face that she knew I did not want to cancel my plans.
"No, honey it's fine." She said smiling again. "Who are you going with?"
I stared back at her almost panicking. I could tell her about Adam or I could not. Oh, who am I kidding, with my brother around she would be finding out sooner or later anyway.
"Adam" I said while slowly turning around trying to shuffle my way to the stairs without her noticing.
Her head snapped up quickly and she looked at me smirking. "Adam?" She asked raising her eyebrow at me. "How come I haven't heard his name before?"
"Umm.." I was stumbling over my own words. "I met him today at the record store." I smiled.
She suddenly looked concerned. "You just met him today and your going to dinner with him?" She asked uncertainty in her voice.
I sighed and turned back around to face her. "Yes, mom. We talked for a while and he seems like a good guy." I stated in an annoyed tone which I instantly regretted once my mom gave me that 'what did you just say to me?' look.
I dropped my gaze to the floor and thought about what I was going to say before it actually came out of my mouth. "I'm sorry." I said quietly.
She sighed. "It's fine, honey. I just hope you know what your doing."
I looked back up at her and smiled. "Yes, mom. It's not anything serious, just going out to dinner with a friend." I said. "I promise." I added.
She rolled her eyes laughing. "Ok, well you go ahead and get ready then." And then she waved her hand at me motioning for me to go smiling.
"Thanks, mom" I yelled as I practically sprinted up the stairs to my room.
I shut the door and looked around unsure of what I should do first. I walked out of my room and down the hall to the bathroom and decided to take a quick shower.
I got in and let the hot water run down my back calming my nerves. I really don't know why I was so nervous. I laughed at the thought. I mean it was just dinner with a friend and nothing more. I washed my hair and jumped out of the shower throwing my hair up in a towel and then wrapping one around my body.
I walked back to my room and sat on my bed looking at the clock. It read 3:45. I still had a while until he got here. I walked to my closet placed my hand on my hip and sighed bed staring at my closet. What to wear? This may take longer than I expected. I glanced back at the clock . This was not going to be easy.
