Chapter 9:

Luke pov:
Today was a really good day.
We had a gig tonight at 20:00 pm, and it was awesome. After a long time, today was good.

Morning:

"Hey Luke." Julie said coming in the garage.
"Hey." I said kissing her cheek.
"Where is Reggie?"
"I think he's walking."
"Oh. Okay."
"Yeah."
"You know, I think we should have new songs"
"I agree."
"So, you wrote some new songs?"
"Y- no, no. I didn't, sorry." I said. Obviously, lying, I couldn't tell her that I write songs.
"Don't worry. We can write now, together."
"Yeah. Good Idea."

Alex pov:
Today. It's sunday.
Willie and I are really good. I like him a lot. But I don't think i love him like yet.

"Hey." Willie said walking inside.
"Hey." I said, and he kissed my cheek.
"I need to tell you something very important."
"It's good or bad?"
"Very good." He said smiling.
"Okay. Tell me."

Flasback 1995 march 13

Alex pov:
I slept in the garage last night. Luke slept here with me, I think he knew that I don't want to be alone.
I didn't wanted. It was good that I wasn't alone.

"Hey guys. Why aren't you in school?" Bobby said walking in the garage. Luke and I were looking at each other. It's friday.
"Why aren't you?" I asked.
"Well , because it's 7:40 am. So I have time. But it's weird that you two are here that early."
"Yeah, well about that. I need to talk to you." I said.
"Okay, Alex. But first we need to go to school."
"Bobby, really? Why? Can't I skip a day?"
"Nope."
"Who are you? My mom? My dad?"
"Well, no, but We need to go to school."
"Ugh. Bobby's talking about school. Since when do you care about school?"
"Since I almost fail 2 classes."
"Okay. Let's go." Luke said.
"Oh. Luke, you too?"
"Yeah Alex. It's gonna be good."
"School is never good."
"You need distraction." Luke said.
"Woah, woah I just see it, what happened to your face? And why are you walking like that?" Bobby asked.
"Well. This is what I need to talk about."
"After school it's okay? It's already 7:50 am."
"Yeah, sure. Let's go." I said.

At school:

"Hey" Reggie said.
"Hey man." I said..
"Oh my- Alex what happened to your face? And why are you limping?"
"After school I will tell you." I said looking at Luke.

"Look at that tall stupid anxious boy."
"Shut up, Daniel." Reggie said.
"No. Why? I don't even understand why are you friends with that stupid boy."
"He's not stupid. He's our friend. YOU say this because you don't know what real friendship is." Reggie said.
"I know. I have friends since 3 grade. So I know."
"You mean that who are in your ass all day? And they are doing what you want them to do? This is friendship to you?" Luke said.
"Shut up, Patterson."
"No. If you hurt one of the people who are close to me, You have to deal with me too." Luke said, then Daniel come to me closer and punched me in the face.
"You stupid." Daniel said.
"HOW DARE YOU?" Reggie asked angry.
"That's all you got?" I asked.
"You want more?" He said coming again and punched me harder. I punched him back. My friends were shocked, they knew I can fight, but they never saw me punch someone. Then the two friends of him caught my two hands and Daniel started kicking me in the belly
"STOP. YOU BITCH." Luke said, then he started kicking him in the back. Reggie and Bobby too. He fell on the floor then Luke helped me go to the bathroom.

"Thanks." I said.
"For what?"
"For helping me. You could have gone. But you stayed."
"Of course. You think I would leave you there? Really? No way. I don't like when you get hurt. I feel angry everytime. You mean so much to me. I hope you know that." Luke said.
"I know. You mean so much to me too." I said smiling.
"Well, we have to clean the blood on your face"
"I agree." I said laughing.
"I love when you are laughing." Luke said.
"Oh shut up." I said punching him on the shoulder.
"What? I'm telling the truth." He said.
"Eh. Well then I love when you are smiling too."
"Okay?" We both started laughing. And he started cleaning the blood on my face. We looked in each others eyes for a few seconds.
"Uhm..." I said clearing my throat "I think we should go to class." I said looking away from his eyes.
"What? No. We are going back to the garage, then you can rest."
"No. I don't want. I'm fine."
"You don't look fine."
"Really? i came to school for distraction. Then this is happening?"
"Well. Let's go." He said.
"We have to tell Bobby and Reggie."
"Don't worry. I will text.

Reg💙
hey Reg. Alex and I are going to the garage. Tell Bobby and to the rest of our teachers. Okay?
Yeah, sure. I hope Alex gonna get better soon.
Yeah. Me too. See u at the garage after school.
Okay. Bye. Be careful.
We gonna be.

"Done. Now let's go." Luke said.
"Ugh. Fine. Help me." I said and he helped me stand.

At the garage:

Luke pov:

"So, what do you want to do?"
"What I want to do? Alex, you need rest. Sleep a little bit."
"I don't want."
"But you have to."
"What? You are my mom?"
"Alex, you really need a little bit sleep. That's why we came here."
"Yeah. True. Okay. I will try"
"Good."
"Can you come next to me?"
"What?" I said looking at him.
"Can you come here? Please?"
"Sure" i said then I go to lay on the couch next to him. He put a hand on my chest. Then he fell asleep. I watched him a little bit then I fell asleep too.

2021

Luke pov:
Julie and I started writing. we are almost ready with the new song.

"What about this: You don't always get what you want at first
But if you work hard to get it

"Okay. So we are done with the song."
"Yeah we are, after hours"
"But was worth it."
"Yes."
"Reggie. Julie and I finished I new song. Where have you been?"
"For a walk. Thinking. Can I read the song?"
"Yeah of course."
"Guys. This is amazing."
"Thanks Reg." I said.
