What happened?

In the woods

I closed my eyes in fright, if i was going to die I'm not willing to see it happen, hopefully it's a quick one. I felt it's big hands violently grab my shoulders and....
It suddenly fell to the ground behind me, with the other one also falling down from the highland I initially fell from.
"What the hell?" I murmured
I took a second look at the Ogre behind me and I noticed an arrow drilled onto it's creepy looking head, it was the same with the other one.
I didn't still feel safe, I tried to run—
"Halt!" a voice stopped me
Someone was emerging from the shadows with an arrow, i put my two hands up which was supposed to indicate I wasn't a threat—*hopefully this person understands that*
The figure was starting to come into light, it was feminine, who was it going to be, Lena or Sophia?
I could finally see her face but to my surprise I haven't seen this person in my entire life...don't tell me she is the DEATH GOD.

"Hey, what do you think the lit words on top of the building meant" Derek asked Claudia as they walk aimlessly along the bushes
"DT,D...T, hmmm it probably means Death Tower, hahaha" she joked
Derek didn't find it funny, she noticed he wasn't laughing so she decided to quit it and not try any harder.
"What's wrong? Are you really considering what i said? It was meant as a joke don't be so stock up on it."
Derek was still absent in his thoughts.
"Hey!!! What is it?" Claudia snapped positioning her face right in front of his.
"Claudia nothing is normal here, everything has a meaning" he said glancing at the amulet which looked like it has stopped glowing.
"What are you really trying to say?"
"Honestly I don't know, it has never been my specialty to decipher codes"
"Damn Lena where the hell are you?" Derek sighed
"Hey since we are out we should find a way to look for your friends, what do you think?"
"Yeah, that's the next thing to do, where do you think we should search?"
Claudia raised a brow at Derek, Derek realised he had asked her a rather dumb question
"Eeeeh sorry I shouldn't be asking you questions like you lived in this place your whole li..."
"Over there" Claudia interrupted pointing towards an area where visible smoke can be seen rising in the air. Derek turned facing the direction Claudia's fingers pointed at.
"Who would be burning a fire out here? Could it be that Stephan and Lena already made it out? We have to hurry!" Derek spoke in excitement already moving towards the direction
"Hold it there hurry bunny" Claudia stopped him with her right hand on his shoulder before she made a depressing sigh
"To believe that you were the one acting all cautious and calculative, so you're just going to run of to that area not considering it might be some sort of a wrong signal or even a trap"
"A trap? Why would it be a trap?" Derek asked
"Remember when we left the building?"
"Yeah i do" Derek replied listening intensively to Claudia's on going explanation.
"A sort of alarm system went off and most of the creatures ran off together in the same direction like they had a gathering to be at or a place to be at"
"Yeah go on"
"And you told me you have friends here"
"Ohhh i see where you're driving at,—what if they are looking for us and a fire is their way of trying to lure us out" Derek inputed completing her explanation
"Yeah it took you this much to catch on" Claudia commented
"But don't you think these creatures are pretty dumb to think up something like this?" Derek questioned
"Yeah i think so too, because even you can't think this up not to talk of a defected, poorly evolved creature" Claudia joked again
"Not funny Claudia" Derek pouted
"Hahaha sorry sorry...back to the situation, I'm going to go in a straight path towards the smoke while you take that curved route, that way we would have double vision of what's in front of us and can easily fall in as backup if anyone of us is in danger...Got that?"
Derek just stared at Claudia in disbelief
"I will take that as you understand ",Claudia concluded.
"Were you ever in the military?"
"Nah, I'm just one of the few girl's that never gets noticed by boys, Let's go".
