The next day, while Mollie May was in the middle of planting the tulips and crocuses, a car drove up the little, narrow road towards 3 Kings Road. Mollie May heard it pull into her drive way and walked around the side of the house to find Ada walking towards her.

Mollie May looked at her confused, but couldn't stop the smile that broke out across her lips. She hadn't seen any of the Shelby's for three months now and she was beginning to believe she never would again. Ada seemed to radiate the same happiness and relief and pulled Mollie May into a tight hug. "Thank goodness you're okay. The boys were digging through the rubble for hours."

Mollie May squeezed her hand reassuringly but didn't say anything. "We thought you were dead." Ada continued, her eyes moving at a hundred miles an hour over Mollie May as if she wasn't real, "And then someone told us they'd seen you leave just before the explosion. I don't think I've ever been so relieved in my life." Ada held Mollie May back to study her with a grin on her face.

"Also, the boys found this in the debris." She held up Mollie Mays fedora who grinned and took it, hitting the dust off it. "Thanks." Ada's few words had meant more to Mollie May than what she had realised. The boys had been looking for her. And Ada was standing right in front of her, telling her that the were relieved she was alive. No matter how hard Tommy had tried, he couldn't stop them from caring about her and Mollie May basked in the small victory she had won over him.

Ada's smile seemed to die however, when she looked again at Mollie May, her thumb brushed the scar that ran a couple of inches from the corner of Mollie Mays mouth. "Was that from yesterday? Are you okay?"

Mollie May brushed Ada's hand to the side quickly, trying not to draw attention to herself, "No and I'm fine." She muttered before Ada caught her left hand. Her mouth fell open when she noticed the missing finger but Ada didn't have long to pry as Mollie May tugged her hand back, stuffing it in her pocket quickly.

"Mollie May, what happened to you?" Ada asked her quietly, her eyes still lingering on the scratches and bruises left on her face from Emilia King yesterday. Mollie May just shrugged. The pain from the last three months threatened to spill from her lips but she wouldn't let it. Her eyes gave it all away though and Ada noticed. The blueness had dimmed and seemed tired beyond sleep, their usual spark extinguished. Mollie May turned to head back around the side of the house before Ada could dig any deeper, her demeanor hardened and cold, "Business, that's all."

"How'd you find me? What are you doing here?" Mollie May questioned Ada who had followed her to the back of the house. "I know people too." Ada smirked, her eyes sweeping over Mollie Mays new house and impressive landscape. "You all think you're the only ones with connections. I came to see you, why else would I be here." She laughed, but Mollie May didn't find it very funny.

"Did Tommy not say to stay away?" Ada sighed, "Yeah, he did, but when do any of us listen. I'm surprised Arthur and John haven't been knocking your door down yet." The ghost of a smile passed over Mollie Mays lips. She finished the last window box and wiped her soil covered hands on her old bottoms which had now been christened the gardening bottoms.

Then she invited Ada in for a cup of tea, the chilly wind too cold to sit out in. She showed her around the house which Ada seemed to love, already starting to plan colour schemes for each room and what furniture and curtains she should pick. Mollie May chuckled, nodding intently at what Ada was saying without really listening. The fact that Ada was here was enough on its own.

Then they sat down in the sun room, both sipping their teas. "So, fill me in on what's been happening in the Shelby world." Ada looked at her startled, "Haven't you heard?" Mollie May shook her head, her eyes dropping down to her milky tea. "Oh. Em, Tommy had an accident a while ago. His skull was cracked and the doctors said he had a haemorrhage. It took him ages to get onto his feet again." Ada filled her in on everything that had happened, perhaps letting things slip about the Russians that she shouldn't have. Apparently in the mix of all the chaos, nobody remembered to tell Mollie May who had distanced herself from the Shelby's.
