June 5 1996

"Here you are." Tonks said as she set down a glass of ice cold lemonade next to Remus.

"Thank you, Tonks." Remus replied as he took a sip of his lemonade. He tried not to grimace, Tonks must've put a cup of sugar in that pitcher of lemonade.

"It really is pouring out there, isn't it?" Tonks said, looking out the window behind here.

"Yes, I haven't seen a storm this bad since...well since the 70s." Remus said. He internally kicked himself. He sounded so old.

"Tell me about it." Tonks said cheerfully. Remus smiled slightly. Tonks was so cheery.

"Well, it was a couple days before my friends and I were leaving Hogwarts for the summer, we were in fourth year." Remus said.

"Which friends?" Tonks asked.

"Well there was James, and Sirius-"

"Oh, you don't have to talk about them if you don't want to." Tonks said, getting a worried look on her face. Remus smiled.

"It's ok, it's actually quite a funny story." Tonks smiled and leaned forward slightly.

"Proceed." she said.

June 10, 1975

"It really is pouring out there." James said as he gazed out the window of their dorm. "Have you ever seen a storm this bad?"

"Nope." Remus said, flipping through a book.

"Don't you find the rain fascinating?" James asked, walking towards Remus. Remus looked up from his book and rolled his eyes.

"It's precipitation, James. It's a very simple science. So no, I don't find it very fun or interesting."

"Blasphemy!" James exclaimed.

"Blasphemy is when you defy your religion, James. Is the rain your religion?" Remus asked.

"It very well should be, what with it being so god-like." James replied.

"Now you're just trying to prove to me that you're right." Remus said. James paused for a few seconds.

"I can prove to you that I'm right, come on." James pulled Remus up out of his bed and started dragging him out of their dorm. Remus tried to resist, but James was a lot stronger than him.

"James what are you doing?!" Remus asked.

"We're gonna go prove to you that the rain is the best." James said. They were now walking down the stairs towards the common room, Remus stopped resisting because otherwise he would've fallen.

"Who is "we"?" Remus asked. James dragged Remus to one of the red, overstuffed couches in the common room where Sirius and Peter were sitting.

"Lads, I have an announcement." James said, Remus and him still arm and arm. Sirius and Peter looked up.

"You're leaving Lily for Remus?" Sirius asked, looking at the two's linked arms. James immediately stepped away from Remus.

"How dare you insinuate that I don't love Lily?" James said in a dramatic tone.

"This is off topic, what's the announcement?" Peter said, looking at James. James cleared his throat.

"Remus doesn't like rain." James said. The others gasped.

"I never said that, I just said it wasn't fun or interesting." Remus said.

"What?!" Peter said.
