When I open my eyes I see the blue sky of Earth above me and I can hear the busstle of cars around me. Sitting up I wince and look behind me to see one of my wings had a few singed feathers. Looking up I see some of my white feathers floating down towards me. I stand and step out of the crater I created and look around; I stood just in the tree line of a secluded Forest near the interstate and I turn to walk further into the woods.
After walking for hours, I collapsed to my knees and started to sob. I knew that I had to keep moving to keep them from finding me, but I was so tired..I closed my eyes and started to doze off.
'Snap' My eyes shoot open and I am on my feet in a defense position listening for attackers."Woah. Calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you" a guy says as he walks into the clearing I'm in. His hands in a surrender position beside him. I continue to watch him as he steps closer. The moonlight reflects off of his hair making the dark brown seem darker. His eyes flash a bright green and I step out of the position.
"Sorry. I have to be cautious around people" I say and quickly wrap my wings around one another to make them smaller.
"Your not human are you?" He asks noticing my wings and I look at the ground, refusing to answer.
"I recognize you but I can't remember from where..your an Angel I know that much."
"Yeah. I was an Angel. I am a Fallen now." I say I instinctively know that this is the guy I saved before he had even said anything.
"Come home with me." He says and I nod following him, on the way there I realize that I need to get rid of my wings as soon as possible.
"You gonna come inside?" He says and I shake my head.
"I have to do something first. Go inside, I'll come in soon Chase." I say and he nods suprised and goes inside.
I walk a few steps away and unfurl my wings taking a deep breath and grab a handful of my feathers biting my lip, bracing myself.
