Lilith tapped the pencil to her cheek, twirling it around in her fingers before writing on the slip of paper. Dumbledore gave her a sign up sheet to Muggle Art and it only arrived this morning. Instead of going to the Library, she decided to go to the DADA classroom, as Lucius didn't seem to mind.
Lucius read through a large leather-bound tome that nearly took up all of the desk space, occasionally glancing up at the girl only to see her lips held a frown, her brows drawn in confusion as she stared down at the paper.
"Everything alright, dear?" He clasped his hands together, watching the way she jumped at the sudden sound of his voice.
Lilith quickly composed herself, cheeks flushed in embarrassment as she met his gaze. "Just confused, that's all." Her eyes fell back to the paper.
"Anything I can help you with?"
"Erm..Maybe." She stopped twirling her pencil, setting it on the desk. "It's a sign up sheet for Muggle Art. The form is confusing." Lucius nearly cringed as he heard the word 'muggle'.
Lucius pushed himself from the desk, the chair scraping against the wooden floor. He made his way towards the girl until he stood next to her, the fabric of his coat momentarily brushing against her arm from how close they were. His fingers landed on the piece of paper, turning it towards him before picking it up to get a better look. "Do you know your student ID?" He peered down at her, watching as she shook her head. "Dorm code?"
"No." She blushed, arms crossing as she slumped in her seat, "I'm sorry."
"No need to apologise, love." Lucius flashed a small smile, his gaze moving back to the paper, then to her. "How did you sign up for your other classes?"
Lilith narrowed her eyes, pursing her lips before replying, "Dumbledoore did that." She played with her fingers under the desk to distract her from his burning gaze.
"Why didn't your parents do it?" He rubbed his chin whilst looking between the girl and the paper.
The girl merely shrugged in response, her face masking emotions before they could slip into view. Lucius could tell she wanted nothing more than to drop the subject.
"It's okay, it's not a required class." She reached for the paper, to which Lucius pulled it out of reach, scanning over her face and lingering on her mouth that was faintly ajar. It almost looked as if he were smirking.
"It's alright, Lilith." His tone soothed her, his eyes carrying a type of softness that made her head feel fuzzy. "If you don't know your dorm code, you can use my classroom code instead." He proposed, setting the paper back on the wooden desk.
"Class code?"
"Each room in Hogwarts has a code. It's how mail gets passed around easily." He informed, "Is that alright with you? Your homework would be sent here. You would have to come get it in the evening each day."
The girl shrugged, "That's fine with me." Her cheeks ran red, shifting her eyes from his, "I'm sorry."
Lucius rose a brow, staring down at her in confusion, "Whatever for? You're not bothering me, Lilith. You don't ever have to worry about that." He offered a small smile, to which she faintly mirrored.
Setting the paper down, he reached his hand out towards his desk, a quill already splashed in ink barreled towards his hand, landing in his palm with ease. He leaned over her desk, his silky hair falling to the other side as he wrote down the classroom code on the thin sheet of paper, along with a little note to the teacher about why it was being delivered there.
Lilith couldn't help but look at him rather than his writing. His skin smooth, yet rough with age, his eyes void of any color other than grey, and his lips carried the slightest tinge of pink that made her want to reach out and brush her thumb over them. Her fingers twitched as if she longed for his touch, her mind carrying a haze that tainted her field of thought.
