Kanzaki was in her estate, preparing to leave for her mission with Kyojuro. Despite believing he could handle it, she couldn't help but agree to and join him.
Her sister Aoi, watched as she finished tying the bottoms of her uniform and put on her shoes.
Aoi was nervous for her sister. She knew she was strong and held up to that fact for as long as she could. But it was still meddlesome to think about. The demon's now are stronger than the ones in final selection.
She was just worried.
So in head time before leaving, she offered to walk with her sister to the train station. She was going to either A: threaten the flame pillar to protect her or. B: tell another one to go with them.
It was routine for her to scold anyone who let her sister get hurt on a mission even if the demon slayer is a higher rank than her.
She just did out of love which (Y/n) found adorable her sister is this persistent about it even after adopting her about eight years ago. The eldest Kanzaki finished, and did her regular routine of letting her younger sister make excuses about how she should not to her job.
"You may be sick and-"
"Shinobu said I am healthy Aoi."
"But-"
"I also did sharpen my sword. Also yes Kyo does know the rules and will take responsibility if I get hurt."
"Okay wha-"
"And yes Aoi, the others can be ready if they need to. I can send a crow to all pillars but I believe Sabito and Sanemi are on their own personally assigned mission as well."
She knew what she was going to ask or tell anyway. But it was out of love so she entertained it.
"Hmph! Fine...you may go! But promise you will come back alive!"
"I promise, mom."
She ran out of the house with a screeching Aoi behind her.
She stopped to see Kyojuro waiting for her. He looked up and smiled at her. She smiled back, and God did he feel his heart leap into his throat and his ears/cheeks burning.
"Hello kanzaki-chan! Ready to go? Master approved of two pillars going but also some younger demon slayers will accompany us as well." She nodded and walked beside.
But before leaving Aoi came out running to hug her sister and glare at the Flame Pillar.
"Keep her safe or else."
Kyojuro and (y/n) sweat dropped and swore that the rath of this little girl was about as worse than that swordsmith.
Kyojuro nodded quickly and (y/n) grabbed his hand to lead him away from her sister.
