"So both press releases are approved?"
Win was talking to the corporate communications manager of one their clients on the phone. He works as an account director for one of the known PR agencies in the country.
"Alright, I'll have Julia feed it to the media then. Thank you Miss Carol. Have a good day."
Win sighed and closed his eyes as he leaned back on his chair. It's been a long day, and it wasn't going to end any sooner.
"Sir Win?" Tina, their receptionist, knocked on his door. "Sir Bright is outside."
Win looked at the clock and it showed that it was only four in the afternoon. Wala ba'ng trabaho yung mokong na yun?
"Tell him to come in," Win said.
"He's in the pantry Sir, may dalang pizza para daw po sa atin."
Win smiled as he shook his head. Ano na naman kaya kailangan ng kumag na 'to?
It has been three months since his big break up with Anne, and true to form, Bright has been really clingy, especially with Win.
The first few weeks after the break up were filled with out-of-nowhere road trips, midnight cravings for 7-11, club hopping, karaoke nights, and a lot of alcohol. Tipong ultimo bahay-alak nila sumusuko na sa kakainom? Ganun katindi.
Not that Win minded. He knew that Bright needed him and so he made sure he's always there for him—sa bandang masaya, malungkot, galit, takot, at kung ano pa man yan. Win is more than willing to play the role of the beloved best friend.
Kahit minsan, masakit na.
He saw Bright walking towards his office with a paper plate full of food and a drink on his other hand. He was looking back and laughing at what one of Win's staff was saying, then he just shook his head.
"Sir Bright thank you sa food!" Win heard his staff telling him.
"You're welcome!" He hollered back, then he leaned on the doorway, smiling at Win.
"Pa-puds po," he told Win, his brows going up and down as he grinned.
Win couldn't help but smile back.
"Sarap ng buhay, walang trabaho?"
"I'm done for the day ano ka ba." Bright said as he settled the food on Win's table.
Bright is a professional photographer who runs his very own studio. He covers all sorts of events—weddings, birthdays, corporate gatherings, anything and everything that can be documented through the lens, his studio can do it.
It was one of the reasons why they have become closer since they met. Win's company have commissioned Bright as their official photographer for most of their press conferences and corporate events.
He also teaches photography on the side, holding small classes in his studio. Oh and he sometimes moonlights as a singer and acoustic guitar player in one of those small, hole-in-the-wall bars in Poblacion.
O di ba ang packaging ni Kuya B? How could anyone not fall in love with him?
"You said you'd be working late di ba? Samahan kita."
Tapos may pa-ganyan pa siya. Lord, tulong. Win thought to himself.
"I'm not even sure how long I would take," Win told him.
"That's fine, I can wait." Bright said, settling down on the small couch that was in Win's office.
"Walang ibang friends?"
