"Mahal, I'm sorry talaga. Bawi ako okay? I love you po."
Bright absolutely hated lying to Win. In the almost 10 years they have known each other, he's never lied this bad before.
But he knew it was worth it--sobrang worth it.
In a couple of months they will be celebrating their third year anniversary as a couple, all in all 10 years as best friends.
Bright thought it was more than enough time for them to really get to know one another, to get immersed with each other's lives, and most of all, to fall even more madly in love with each other. It was more than enough time for them to finally take it to another whole new level.
Bright was going to finally ask Win to marry him, and he couldn't be any more excited.
He was planning a grand proposal that Win deserved, hence the white lies and excuses he's been making at Win. He knew it hurt his boyfriend that he's been missing their usual get togethers, but Bright was making sure that it was all going to be worth it for Win.
First, he made sure that the house that he bought a few years back was already designed and settled. It has to look beautiful and perfect for his Win, for it will be the home they will share and will grow old in.
He was lucky enough to meet Love Pascual, a fellow photographer, in one of the conventions he attended last year in Japan. She also happens to be one of the well-known interior designers in the country, which was why they kept in close contact since they met.
Incidentally, Love was also going to be married this year and has commissioned Bright's studio to do all their wedding photos and videos. It was like everything fell into a perfect place.
At one point Bright felt that Win was catching up on him, like he knew something was up. Win even asked if they could have a heart to heart, which Bright casually brushed off, much to both of their dismay.
Konti na lang po, Mahal ko. Konti na lang.
Bright couldn't believe his eyes. What was once just an empty space now really looked and felt like home. His jaw almost dropped as he scanned the simple design of their future humble abode.
"So? What do you think?" Love asked Bright expectantly.
Bright couldn't help but lift Love in his arms and gave them a twirl as he squealed in excitement.
"Oh my God Vachirawit!" Love was screaming.
Bright gently put her down and held Love's small face in his hands. "Love, this is absolutely awesome!"
Love was smiling. "Do you think Win will like it?"
"He will love it."
Love heaved out a sigh of relief. "Sure ka ha? I mean I just based it on what you said he would love."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Bright exclaimed, still overwhelmed with excitement. He can't wait for Win to see their future home, make great memories, and most of all, spend the rest of their lives together.
"Are you crying?" Love asked when she saw Bright's teary eyes.
Bright looked down and shook his head, embarrassed. "Uhm, napuwing lang."
Love entangled her arm with Bright's.
"Aww Bright. I can't wait to finally meet Win. He must be really something else to make you this happy and in love," Love told him with a smile.
Bright beamed at Love.
"He's my everything."
