To say that Bright and Win are happy is an understatement. While they may look just like any other couple, to them what they have was really special, something that was built and honed from a beautiful friendship to a love that's so deep and wonderful.
Both were living and showing their love, a day at a time. It's like everyday is a new day for them, like it was always the first time. Bright showers Win with care and affection as if he was still courting him--giving him flowers, taking him out on romantic dates, serenading him with songs. Bright loved doing it for Win, like he was making up for lost time.
It was not perfect, of course. There are still moments that make them fall into cracks, but they do their best to manage it a day at a time. Sabi nga nila, huwag matutulog ng galit at hindi nase-settle ang issue. And it has been working fabulously for them so far.
"Hey Tins, boss mo?"
Bright had just arrived at Win's office. Win had just messaged him that he was done for the day, and that they could grab something to eat before going home.
"He's still in his office, Sir Bright. May meeting po." Tina said.
"Huh? He just texted me and said he was ready."
"He's with a new client Sir, biglaan po pumunta dito so I guess nag-meeting na po," the receptionist further explained.
Bright could only nod. "How long have they been in there?"
"About 15 minutes Sir."
Bright nodded again and sighed. I guess I'll have to wait, he told himself as he settled on the couch by the reception.
30 minutes have passed and Win still hasn't come out. Bright messaged him to let him know that he was there, but he figured he wouldn't be holding his phone if he was in a meeting.
Bright heard a burst of laughter coming from Win's office, and soon enough he saw his boyfriend walking towards the reception area, alongside this tall, fairly handsome guy. Bright took one look at him and he knew there was something he didn't like about this guy already.
"Hey you're here." Win said as he saw Bright.
Malamang, Bright thought to himself as he gave Win a small nod. He didn't like the way Win was beaming around this guy.
"Bright, this is Jake. He's the marketing manager for Netflix Philippines, and a good friend from college," Win smiled as he introduced the two men to each other. "Jake, this is Bright."
Bright looked at Win, expecting for something more, like along the lines of this is Bright, my boyfriend?
But Bright got nothing.
"Oh, so this is the infamous Bright Castro," Jake said, extending his hand for a shake. "Winnie's told me so much about you and your great work."
WINNIE? Bright was screaming inside his head.
Bright took Jake's hand. "In the flesh."
"It's good to meet you, man. I look forward to working with your team for our campaigns," Jake said.
Bright only nodded.
"So, Winnie. Let's meet again next week? I'm really sorry if I barged in unannounced like this. When my boss told me you'll be handling our account, I had to see for myself that it was really you," Jake said with a laugh.
Win laughed along. "Ano, para chance mo na makabawi sa pag-uutos ko sa'yo noon sa mga reports natin?" He kept on chuckling.
Anong nakakatawa? Bright was starting to feel annoyed.
