Win could not contain his excitement as he pushed his baggage cart out of the arrival area at the airport. He smiled even wider when he saw his SUV pulling up, expecting his Vachichi to come out and welcome him.
"Badet welcome home!"
Win was surprised to see Julia instead.
"Uy, thank you," he said, giving his friend a hug. Then he asked, confused. "Asan si Bright?"
"Eh ayun na nga, he had to do a last minute shoot for a very important client this morning," Julia started explaining as she helped Win with his luggages. "Nasa ere ka na when it all happened, so hindi ka na nya na message."
Disappointment was written all over his face
"Sabi niya he'll come home as soon as the shoot's done."
Win was pouting. Wala na siyang pakialam kung isipin ni Jules na nagiinarte siya.
Gagong Bright yun. Eto ba yung sinasabi niyang worth it na paliwanag?! ULOL.
"Whatever Jules. Please just take me home," he said pointedly as he got into the front seat.
Julia pursed her lips. "Hmm are you hungry Badet? We can get some food on the way."
Win just shook his head. "No thanks. Uwi na tayo."
With a nod, Julia started driving.
Win could not believe Bright did this, that this was happening. He was so excited to be finally home with Bright, in his arms, and do a restart.
Very important client? More important than me?! Win was screaming inside his head as he closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself.
Julia reached out to touch Win's arm. "I'm sorry Badet ha."
Win put his hand on Julia's. "Wala kang kasalanan. Basta iuwi mo na lang ako please."
Jet lag must've caught up with Win because he unknowingly fell asleep, and the next thing he knew he was being driven somewhere South.
"Jules? Asan tayo?"
"Badet sorry may kailangan lang ako daanan."
"All the way down South? Julia naman this is so out of the way. You should've brought me home first." Win was now all cranky.
"I am bringing you home," Julia said quietly with a knowing smile.
Win was now confused. As he looked outside, the all-too familiar ETON exit suddenly dawned and hit him.
"Tangina Julieta Montecillo anong ginagawa natin dito?!"
But Julia just kept on driving, and true enough, she turned to the subdivision where Win saw Bright with Love.
"Julieta this is fucking kidnapping! I swear to God tatawag na ako ng pulis."
"Win Metawin Ocampo, tangina mo rin pero kumalma ka lang diyan or I swear to God din ibabangga ko 'tong sasakyan mo!"
That shut Win up for the time being.
A few more turns later, Julia pulled up on the driveway of that corner white house, and Win was surprised to see a familiar girl smiling and waving at them.
"Hi Win! Welcome home!" Love was practically squealing as soon as Julia rolled down the window on Win's side.
Win gave Love a weary smile. Then he turned to Jules. "O Julieta, baka pwede ka na magpaliwanag?"
Julia pinched Win's cheek. "Eh kung bumababa ka na dyan para malaman mo?" She gave her friend a tight hug. "I love you Badet."
Still confused, Win got out of the car and looked at Love who was still all smiles.
