Driving a corvette would be much more smoother and swift the same way as you park them if not because of the students who press horns as a greeting or jocks who stop their cars midway waiting for you to acknowledge them, if someone would ask Yeji, the worst kind would be the knocking on the bumper all along with the silly salutes. There are many people like that, different faces she somehow recognized, most of the time didn't, yet she greeted them for a reason that it is always nice to be nice.
Indeed, but I'm getting late.
Yeji smiled at the last person she saw at the University's parking lot, her blond hair was tied pre-flight as if she expected the first day running all along. Her strides were long and fast-paced, though she's far from looking foolish as she sweat herself, this was all she meant when she said running. It was walking graciously as fast as she can, looking straight ahead and considering all the hallway greetings as polite as it could get at the same time skipping the small chatters she was always offered with.
She looked around the newly painted corridor, it was the same neat white and beige department color without the last year's stained walls.
Yeji always thought that the universities with the same caliber were high maintenance, anyone could tell, and this one was pleasantly cared for even more than it should be sometimes. And it was not that she was complaining, at least she can visualize where the atrociously expensive tuition is going at the extent of the actual setting. She was happy with it, and she would probably miss it.
Today was the final university orientation before going to hospital clerkship, speaking about that, her father stubbornly pushed her to pick the family hospital they own but her conviction to go to a different one is steel-solid that in the end the man just gave up. It wasn't that theirs isn't good, it was a nationally acclaimed and recognized medical institution but she wanted to strive and learn in the same way the others will, and she won't have that under her family's influence. She hate to break it to anyone but power play is always a thing, people who feel inferior would succumb to pressure, and a lot of times would look away towards the unjust work system to achieve an ulterior motive and she refuse to be part of that.
If she'd learn she'd do it on her own, and she would work it out so no one would daresay she have it easy.
The cat eyed girl took a deep breathe upon reaching the university hall, the dean was now sprouting his eloquent speech, reminding the students of the institutions' values and all the learning upon the span of two years, his pride was overflowing as if he had accomplished a dream. Yeji stare with conviction, she had always liked that guy, he was a respected doctor who find glory and happiness in teaching, and he was both great at it. She wanted to be even just half as great as him, sometimes even more.
"I know you all wanted to go but before I end this speech I would like to give the director's daughter a warm welcome, I heard a lot of great things, this impressive lady decided to start studying in our own College and to be honest I am very regretful that I wasn't be able to teach her myself, anyway I'm gonna give the floor to you, Ms. Shin?"
"Yuna? I thought she's not interested in med?" the cat eyed girl mumbled to herself.
A few minutes later a man dressed in black suit appeared, whispering something on the professor's ear that made him nod his head for a few times.
