That morning, I woke up next to Luke. A few minutes afterwards we just ate breakfast and he prepared to go home. I drove him to his house and got off the car.
"Bye, beautiful." He told me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Bye, I'll miss you."
"I'll see you Monday, okay?"
"Okay, bye Luke."
"Bye."
I drove back home and changed into some decent clothes.
The weekend was not as dreadful as I though it would be. My parents finally came home, the brought me a shirt from their business trip.
"So about Luke coming over, you guys don't mind, right?" I asked as we ate dinner. My mother prepared us a fajita plate, which was very delicious.
"No of course not! I'm quite excited honestly." My mother replied as she took another fork full of meat into her mouth. My step dad didn't say much, he never did actually.
After dinner, I quickly took a shower and went to sleep.
Monday. A new day which honestly I hate the absolute most. I tied my hair into a pony tail and put some simple jeans with Luke's red plaid shirt. I unbuttoned the shirt, revealing my white tank top.
I drove to school and saw Luke talking to the other boys. I killed the engine and walked to them. I wrapped my arms around Luke's waist and snuggled my cheek on his back.
"Hello!" I said and giggled. I felt his arms wrap around mine as his thumbs drew circles on my wrists.
"Hey, baby." He greeted in reply. I closed my eyes as I breathed in his cologne. We stayed there for the last ten minutes and walked inside of the school. I pulled my backpack on my left shoulder as Luke and I walked into our corresponding class. Today I was not in the mood of even walking, monthly 'gifts' are the worst.
"What's wrong, babe?" Luke asked me.
"I'm tired, and miserable, and I missed you, and I feel disgusting, and I wanna fall asleep next to you every night." I said as I laid my head down.
"Are you on your period?"
"I don't know, what was your first clue?" I asked sarcastically.
"When you said that you're miserable and tired. You're never tired or miserable." He answered with his eyebrows scrunched up. "I don't really know what to do, I've grown up with only boys. If you need help, just ask. If you need a tam-"
"Okay! This is getting really weird. I'll ask if I need help. Thanks, Luke." I said and gave him a small smile. He kissed my forehead and began to take out the supplies needed for our class.
"Turn to page 643 please, just read the article over Napoleon and answer the questions and do whatever once you're done. Just don't make too much noise." Mrs. Lonidier ordered. She took her phone out and slammed her feet on her desk.
I quickly finished my work so I could talk to Luke.
"Luke, are you done?"
"No."
"Well, are you almost done?"
"No."
"Hurry up, then!" I said to him.
"Why don't you help me." He suggested me as he finally looked up from his paper.
"Well what do you need help with?"
"I don't get questions one through five."
"Luke, that's the whole assignment."
"Could you please just help? I'm really trying here and I don't get it." He pleaded as I sighed.
"I can never say no to you."
"Is that a yes?" He asked me.
"Yes." I leaned in to see the questions. I helped him with the questions and he finally finished at the last five minutes of class.
"Hey Luke, I can read palms." I told him, smiling.
"I seriously doubt that."
"Seriously, I can show you!" I insisted, "Give me your hand." I demanded, I traced his creases gently as I scrunched my eyebrows.
"It says that you're a nerd." I told him with a completely unemotional face.
"Oh my God, Rose." He said, blankly staring at me.
"The creases told me. Trust me, I spent three hours learning the language." I told him, I tried my very best to sound believable.
"Unbelievable, Rose. You are seriously unbelievable." He said with a small chuckle.
After all of my classes we finally got out of the hell hole most people call school.
"I love you." Luke told me against my lips. I was sitting comfortably on the back of my car with Luke leaning onto me.
"I noticed before but I never got the chance to ask. Is that my shirt?" Luke asked me with a smile.
"Yes, I really like it and it smells like you. And I'll give it back tomorrow, okay!" I explained, running my hands down his arms. As soon as I did that, I felt chills run down his body.
"Do I arouse you, Luke Robert Hemmings?"
"What?" His voice got high pitched when he asked that.
"Do I excite you?"
"Why do you think that?" Luke asked me with his cheeks burning scarlet.
"Because your cheeks and your chills."
"Wow, that's a good observation, Sherlock!"
A few seconds later, I begin to feel a sharp pain in my stomach and my lower back. It didn't feel like menstrual cramps or anything I've ever felt.
"Ow!" I groaned in pain. I leaned down and wrapped my arms around myself.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked frantically.
"My back and stomach!" I said with a groan. "It hurts. So bad!" Panic soon began to wash over me. Not in waves, more of a tsunami. I was afraid of why I felt so much pain.
"Do you want me to bring you to the hospital?!" Luke asked me.
"Yeah." He quickly lifted me up and carried me to my car. He cranked the engine alive and sped towards the hospital. I couldn't remember the rest, because it all went black afterwards.
Hours later or what felt like seconds to me, I blinked my eyes open. I was in an uncomfortable bed with strange walls. Everything here was different. Then all the memories came crashing to me.
"Baby? Are you okay?" Someone asked. I looked and saw Luke with blood shot eyes.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"You're in the hospital, and you're worried about me?" He asked with his hands on mine.
"Why are you crying?" I asked again. I didn't like seeing someone I love hurt. Just when he was opening his mouth, the doctor came in.
"Oh you're awake! Well I have some good news, of course followed with some bad news. The good news is that your parents have finally arrived." He let my parents see me. They came running over to my side.
"The bad news is that we found something unusual in your blood. We haven't figured it out yet, but in a couple of minutes we should have the results. I'll come back." And with that, he walked out and left us alone.
"Honey, what happened?" My mother asked me.
"I felt pain on my stomach and lower back. But it hurt a lot. Luke helped me get to the hospital. But then I passed out so that's all I know." I explained. Luke still looked worried and anxious.
"What's wrong, Luke?" I asked once more.
"I'm scared, Rose. I'm scared that something had might happen and that I might loose you! I can't loose you!" He said to me, tears running down his face. I rubbed them off with my thumb. Tears threatened to come down on my eyes as well.
"Don't cry, for whatever happens. Keep smiling for me. I don't like seeing you cry."
"I'm scared." He whispered.
"No, you have to promise me! What if it was just an infection! You just keep smiling. You need to promise me that you will stay strong. For me, please!" I begged him. Tears were taking both of our faces. The door swung open and revealed the doctor with an expression of distress.
"What's wrong?" My father asked him.
"Rosalie has cancer. We tried testing the blood and retesting it. There's no more denying." Luke began to scream with tears, my mother started crying. My father began to let tears out silently.
"Rosalie only has approximately three years left."
