Warmth gently coaxed Izuku from sleep. The sun’s rays slipped through a small window, washing over his skin. For a moment, the light felt nice, soft against the chill he'd grown used to. He nuzzled deeper into what he assumed was dirt or stone—only to realize he was lying on a pillow.
His eyes flew open.
He bolted upright, arms locking to support his weight as he sat in a ‘W’ position. Panic spiked through him as he scanned his surroundings. This wasn’t the cave. He was in a room—small, unfamiliar, and sterile. Pale yellow walls. A barred door. A mattress. A toilet. A sink.
A cell.
Izuku scrambled toward the bars, grabbing them with trembling hands. His voice cracked with desperation.
“H-HELLO?! I-IS S-SOMEONE THERE?! P-PLEASE LET ME O-OUT!”
Tears welled in his eyes as fear settled deep in his chest. He tried to remember—what happened? He’d crossed a border. There were two figures. Men. There’d been pheromones.
His breath hitched.
Alphas.
“No… no no no,” he whispered, collapsing to his knees, hands still clutching the cold metal. “Not again… not alphas…”
Tears streamed down his face as memories surged: cruelty, violence, confinement. Alphas who only saw omegas as tools to satisfy urges or barter in trade rings. They never cared. They never stopped.
He sobbed into his hands, rocking slightly. Just as his cries grew softer, footsteps echoed down the corridor. He tensed, dragging himself away from the door as fast as he could, though he didn’t make it far.
A figure appeared—young, with messy blond hair streaked with black lightning. He wore a guard’s uniform. When he noticed Izuku on the floor, he offered a soft smile and unlocked the door.
Izuku flinched as it creaked open.
The boy froze, crouching down just inside the doorway. His voice was calm, gentle.
“Hey… it’s okay. I don’t bite.”
His tone felt genuine, but Izuku remained frozen, distrust etched deep into every movement. The boy inched forward, then sat cross-legged at a safe distance.
“I’m Denki Kaminari. What’s your name?”
He smiled again—closed-eyed and non-threatening. Too gentle to be a trafficker. Too clean to be a trader.
But they always started that way.
Izuku’s thoughts spiraled.
They act nice at first. Friendly. Charming. But then you let your guard down and suddenly you're in a trade house, locked away and drugged. Kept hidden in a tiny, dirty room where no one will know a male omega still exists. Pumped full of heat suppressants and pregnancy blockers just so they don’t have to deal with the pups you never got a say in carrying—
“HEY!”
The shout snapped him out of his spiraling mind. Izuku looked up quickly.
Denki was on his feet, looking toward the entrance. Another man had entered—tall, muscular, with vibrant red hair and sharp, worried eyes. His scent registered as alpha immediately, but it lacked aggression.

A male omega.
Eijiro still couldn’t believe it. Even now, standing outside the cell, he was struggling to process what they'd found yesterday. The kid had seemed terrified, trembling and silent the entire way back. Something about him… he just looked so small.
Eijiro had been on his way to the office when he heard shouting echoing through the halls. Denki had appeared moments later, breathless.
“Did you hear that...?” Denki asked, his voice filled with concern.
“Yeah,” Eijiro replied, already moving. “Let’s go check it out.”
As they jogged toward the lower levels, a sharp realization struck him.
They had locked him—a traumatized, omega male—in a dungeon cell.
His gut clenched. For someone like that, a space like this could feel no different than a prison—or worse. It wasn’t just careless. It was dangerous.
Denki reached the cell first. When Eijiro arrived, he saw the boy huddled in the corner, shaking. Denki was crouched nearby, unsure what to do.
“Hey!" Denki looked up at him. “He just started panicking and I didn’t know what to do…”
Eijiro stepped inside cautiously. “He’s overwhelmed. He doesn’t know where he is—or who we are.”
Denki hesitated, biting his lip. Then he stood and approached Eijiro with uncertainty in his eyes.
“I know this might sound… weird, but… can I use my scent to calm him down?” Denki asked, voice faltering. “Just a little? Please?”
Eijiro blinked. His mate was asking to use his scent on someone else.
But one look at the omega changed everything.
He was watching them now, no longer hiding. His eyes were wide and locked on Eijiro’s, as if trying to decide whether to run or beg. He wasn’t crying anymore, but the fear clung to him like smoke. His knees trembled. His jaw clenched. His body was still shaking—but his eyes stayed dry.
So strong, despite it all.
Eijiro exhaled slowly. “If it’s just to help him... Yeah. Okay.”
Denki nodded and moved carefully toward the omega. The boy flinched at his approach but didn’t look away. As Denki knelt beside him, a faint wisp of scent began to fill the air—warm, grounding, subtle.
Pheromones.
They weren’t overpowering, but the effect was immediate.
The omega’s trembling slowed. His breathing evened out. The wildness in his eyes dulled, his body softening slightly—but not fully relaxing. He started to cry. His tears glimmered along his cheeks, catching the light. He didn’t smile. He didn’t speak right away.
But he was calmer.
He blinked slowly, eyes glassy but steady.
“…Izuku,” he whispered at last, his voice hoarse but clear. “That’s my name.”
The silence that followed was heavy, but not suffocating.
Denki smiled softly and nodded. “It’s nice to meet you.”
And though Izuku didn’t return the smile, he didn’t retreat either.
