The next morning started with a loud thunder rumbling outside. Beth sat upright in her bed. Sleepy she looked at the clock. Her alarm would go off a few minutes later so she decided to get up. She jumped under the shower, brushed her teeth afterwards and blow dried her hair. Then Beth jumped into a jeans and a white t-shirt and pulled a Grey cardigan over. It felt exciting to finally get ready to go to work again. While packing her bag, she send a voice message to get parents. Nothing would make them happier than seeing her happy. At 8:30am she stepped out of the door and moved towards the subway station. On the level before the platforms, she grabbed a bagel at a small bagel shop. But somehow, she wasn't hungry. The subway train was stuffed at this time of day. All the people wanted to go to Manhattan to work. Beth grabbed a pole and started to take small bites off her bagel. Like always she got off at Bryant Park and made her way to the library. Her first day. Nervousness filled her body. Again, she stood in front of the huge entrance doors in awe. Beth inhaled deeply and walked on into the library. Jane stood on the reception already waiting for her.>>Good morning.<<, Jane said with a smile on her face. Beth felt so welcome, and Jane really was a nice person. >>Let me show you your workplace.<< Jane walked on and Beth followed step. The library was huge and so it took a while until they both arrived at the end of a huge hallway of bookshelves. Jane looked to the right where a big desk filled with books was standing. Right next to it there was an even smaller desk with a laptop and a few pocketbooks. They turned right into the aisle with the two desks. >>So, welcome to your new workplace!<< Jane said while turning back around to Beth. Beth had been a little too excited about the job. >>Uhm, so which one is mine?<<, she asked gently stroking the small desk with her fingers. Jane sat down on the big desk and pointed at the small desk >>this exact one and guess what, you're going to be working with your boss.<<
Beth realized quickly that this wasn't a normal job for a librarian but that didn't bother her right now. She would probably work for Jane as some sort of assistant. That was better than working all alone. The next hours they went through some books together and made notes. When the clock stroke 1pm Beth and Jane went into lunch break.
To check out the next best coffee shop Beth took a stroll around Bryant Park and a few blocks further. She discovered a little coffee shop in the next street and went inside to see what they had to offer. As Beth looked at the menu a big thunder rumbled behind her. The people who were nicely drinking their coffee shrieked back from the window in fear. When Beth turned, she saw a guy with long hair and a hammer running around. And then she saw Jane from the library right behind him. What was going on. Before she could order anything, and she ran out of the coffee shop and out to the street. She followed Jane and the strange looking guy who looked kind of familiar. They ran towards the library and then inside. Beth needed to know what was going on and so she followed them inside. The wooden door of Jane's office went shut when Beth entered the entrance hall. Slowly Beth moved towards the door and held her ear to the door, to listen to what was going on inside. Jane shouted and the men mumbled something Beth couldn't understand. Then she heard a smack. She couldn't hold herself back and opened the door >>Is everything alright in here?<<
Jane looked at her in total shock. Beth looked at the man. Slowly she started to realize, that the man looked like Thor, the good of thunder. Could that be? How was that even possible? Before she could say anything, she fainted.
