Shortly before the said time Beth arrived at the entrance of Stark tower. She let her hair down and gave it a few fluffing strokes. It had already started dawning and the city was filled with red and orange light. It looked beautiful with the wet streets and Beth fully enjoyed the view when someone jumped into the view. It was Thor.

>>Lady Beth, it's good to see you.<< he smiled and kissed her hand. Beth blushed because Thor was really good looking and such a gentleman. She bowed and answered >>I'm happy to see you too Thor, God of thunder.<< Thor laughed and then Jane appeared in the scene.

They went through the glass doors to the elevator. Nobody of the security seemed to be interested in checking their ID's or else. The doors of the elevator opened, and the trio went inside. Thor said "Penthouse" and the elevator started moving. Beth got more and more nervous the higher they got. All of the Avengers would be there, and she was no one to be known. Also, there was no special power she had. Jane was smart, but the only thing Beth was good in was being empathetic. Beth started to pick on her fingers because that was what she did when she felt nervous or uncomfortable.

The elevator stopped on the 36th floor and the doors opened slowly. Out of the elevator you could walk directly to a huge bar and Beth already saw the guy she knew as "Falcon". The more she thought about meeting the Avengers, the more nervous she got, and it was hard to take a step out of the elevator. She walked close to Thor and Jane and tried hard to move somewhat confident even though it was hard. Next to the bar there was a big seating area let down into the floor. Everyone Beth knew out of the newspapers and TV sat there.

>>It's so good to see you guys.<< Thor shouted and made his way down to them to properly say 'hi'. Jane and Beth were both still standing at the top of the stairs watching Thor and the other. One of the guys that Beth knew as "Captain America" got up to greet them. >>Hey Jane, nice to see you again. It's been a while.<< he said while pulling Jane into a hug. Then he faced Beth >>And you must be Beth. Thor said his brother has something going on for you.<< Beth blushed and nodded. >>I'm Steve. Let me introduce you to the rest of the squad.<<

Steve took her by the hand and pulled her down the stairs to the others. >>Guys, this is Beth, Loki's pet.<< he chuckled. Beth waved at the others and only let out a simple >>Hi!<< Thor took the word. >>So, Beth I think you already know some of the guys, but to make it official you're here with us, let me get the names straight for you.<< He pointed at the guy sitting at the bar >>That's Sam.<< Then he turned and pointed at the woman sitting right next to the stairs. >>Here we have the famous Scarlet Witch also known as Wanda. Next to Wanda that's Vision. They have something going on, but they never really talk about it.<<

Wanda threw one of her pillows at him and Thor only chuckled. >>Then we have Bruce Banner. You might remember him as big green Hulk. And next to him that's Natasha.<< Natasha raised her glass to greet Beth. >>To her right you see the Winter Soldier, but his real name is Bucky and you already know our biggest and most worthy hero Captain America.<< Thor sat down besides Steve and waved Jane down to him. Beth took a seat next to Bucky who immediately handed her a beer. >>Thank you, Bucky.<< she said. He just held his bottle of beer in her direction to clink their bottles. Beth started to slowly feel better. But there was someone missing. Tony Stark wasn't there. The only reason she was here.

A few hours went by and Beth had a really good time with the Avengers. She talked to Natasha and Wanda and really felt a great connection coming up, but she had to be careful. Wanda could read minds like Loki and Beth needed to get to Tony. After another hour and a few more beers she needed to go to the toilet. A little bit tipsy Beth headed to the toilet and somehow got lost in the hallway. Behind one of the doors, she passed loud noises could be heard and Beth couldn't help herself but stop and listen. On the other side of the door, she heard a man and a woman arguing about something. She heard someone saying >>I don't want you to get hurt. You need to stop working on that project right now.<< The male voice answered >>No. I'm doing this so I can protect you. If I die, you'll be safe!<<

Beth still had to pee, but she felt like she was on to a big secret too. She tried to hop from one leg to the other to hold it in a little longer, stumbled in the process and fell against the door, that swung open with her. When Beth got up again, she faced Tony Stark and Pepper Potts.

>>Uhmsorry. I was just looking for the restroom. Guess I'm wrong in here.<<she stuttered. Neither Tony nor Pepper knew her, but Tony still got up to lenda hand and help her stand up.

>>Who the hell are you?<< Tony Stark asked her. Beth pulled her topback in position and swung her brown hair to the back. >>I'm Beth. Thorand Jane invited me to join them tonight.<< Pepper seemed to know aboutthat and walked up to Tony and Beth. >>Yeah, Jane wrote me an iMessageabout that. Hope you enjoy the party.<< Beth nodded and smiled. >>Therestroom is down the hallway to the left.<< Beth curtsied in Pepper'sdirection and left the room to go to the restroom. Sitting on the toilet shefelt really drunk even though she was used to drinking a lot. At least she had beendrunk almost every weekend when she was still with her ex-boyfriend. On her wayback to the others, Tony and Pepper joined Beth.

Somehow Beth had forgotten what she was here for. Everyone of the Avengers wasso nice and they had so much fun and great conversations. Beth hadn't felt sogood in month and so she didn't really think of Loki. The evening went by fasterthan everyone liked and at some point, it was time to say good night. Sam and Buckyinsisted to take Beth home, because they were real gentlemen. Beth enjoyedevery minute with them. It was like watching a funny TV show and when theyarrived at the staircase to her house, they pulled her into a big hug.
>>Thank you, guys. I had the best night in a long time.<< Beth saidblushing. Sam smiled.
>>No, thank you. We hope to see you at all the other party's too.<< >>Absolutely!<< Beth answered. The she waved at the two men and shambled up the steps to her door.
