"The Devil in the Mirror, screaming that my heart is torn, I'm never gonna let you win!"

I groaned and put my alarm on snooze as I sat up, slowly becoming more and more aware of my surroundings. I hadn't slept that well because I kept having this odd feeling that someone was watching me.

I got up and made my bed before going to raid my closet for clothes. I found my BVB long-sleeve and my black ripped leggings with my black converse.

I went into my bathroom and shut and locked the door. I turned on the cold water and started undressing. I stepped into the cold water, immediatley waking up my brain. I grabbed my shampoo and conditioner and washed my hair and then I washed my body.

After I finished washing up and stuff, I got dressed and headed out my door to the kitchen, where I gathered my things and went to school.

My routine was the same as any other day: A1, dodge sluts/jerks, A2, recess/soccer break, A3, advisory, and then my favorite, A4. My A4 elective is band. I play the flute and the piccolo.

I walked into the back part of the band room to get my instrument, but before I reached the door, Mr. Scott, the band director, said no instruments.

My mind was racing a mile a minute because something didn't seem right about the atmosphere in the room today.

Mrs. Brewer, the social studies teacher, asked us if we would join her in the national anthem.

As we sang, and I really don't understand why, something clicked in my mind, but I didn't think much of it.

Ms. Vaughn stepped up to the podium and asked the class to quiet down.

"As you all know, Mr. Barnes has cancer and is struggling with his health right now. He has been going through multiple different types of chemotherapy to try and keep the cancer at a minimum. But, unfortunately, the cancer was too strong and Mr. Barnes passed away this morning." she finished softly.

No. No, no, no, NO!! I thought frantically.

"Ariandra, are you gonna be okay?" I faintly heard Kodi say.

I shook my head and ran out of the room to the front of the school.

I saw Andy standing there against the wall on his phone. I couldn't even barely speak before I collapsed in a heap of tears. Andy ran over to me and pulled me into his arms and rocked me back and forth.

"Shh, what's the matter, sweetheart? Are you okay?" Andy asked worriedly.

I didn't get the chance to answer, as I was being abruptly pulled off of him and dragged back to the school.

"YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE SCHOOL PROPERTY UNLESS YOU ARE BEING CHECKED OUT!!" The vice principal Ms. Eagleston screeched.

"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!! I'M LEAVING!!" I yelled as I struggled to get away.

"DUDE, SERIOUSLY, I'M HER LEGAL GUARDIAN AND I AM CHECKING HER OUT!!" I heard Ashley hollar at her.

Ash ran over and started to pull me away from Ms. Eagleston and towards his car. Andy was already sitting in the back seat, waiting for me.

"Ashley, wait, I need to get my stuff." I whispered.

Andy volunteered to go with me, seeing as how Ashley was way too mad to go in. We walked to the band room and grabbed my instrument out of the back, but was met with a surprise when I went to leave.

Aria was standing in the doorway.

"Well, well, well, who do we have here?? Surely you aren't in my room?? That would be bad for you."
