You landed at LAX a couple days later, anxious to get home and kick up your feet for awhile. It's funny how you need a vacation to recover from vacation. You didn't have work until Monday, and it was Friday. You'd been in Vegas since last Thursday, and after all that drinking and dancing, you were exhausted. It was such a good time with your friends though.

You'd been home a few hours when you got a call from one of your friends.

"Hey, have you been online?"

"No, not since getting home. Why?"

"There are pictures of you with Henry. They don't have your name, and you can't really see your face, but it's definitely you."

"Well, that sucks."

"Aren't you worried about being in a tabloid with a celebrity?"

"Why would I be? I can't change the fact that they have pictures. Shit happens. It's not like I will ever see him again."

She tried to tell you that you needed to be concerned, but you shut that down. It really wasn't that big of a deal.

Your friends monitored the gossip magazines for awhile, but it looked like they were never able to identify you. The interest in the story died down after a couple weeks, so you figured that was the end of it.

Except, it wasn't.

Six weeks after getting home from Vegas, you got a little surprise. Or rather, a huge surprise. A surprise in the form of a positive pregnancy test.

Fuck.

The only guy you'd slept with in a long time was Henry. You weren't normally one to sleep around. You'd had one night stands before, but it had been awhile. The trip to Vegas was actually to celebrate you finally breaking things off with your cheating ex. You hadn't slept with him in a few months, though. Things had been really bad toward the end, and you hadn't wanted him.

You panicked for a moment, then took a deep breath and cleared your head. Ok, first things first. Doctor appointment to confirm the pregnancy.

You didn't tell anyone that you might be pregnant. No reason to make a big deal out of it before you knew for sure. You were able to get an appointment for the next day, so you let your boss know you needed to take a personal day.

It didn't take long for the doctor to confirm that you were pregnant. You had an ultrasound, and determined that you were 6 weeks pregnant. Exactly what you thought.

Well fuck. What are you going to do? You aren't worried about being able to raise a baby. You had a great job, a seven figure savings account, and a solid support system.

The problem is whether you try to track Henry down to tell him, or just let it go. He has a right to know, as the father. But, would he even believe you? Or would he think you were trying to trap him?

You had a lot of thinking to do. You knew you'd keep the baby. That was never a question. You hadn't been anywhere close to thinking about having a baby, but you wanted kids some day. Guess that day is now.

When you got home, you flopped on the couch. You could really use a drink, but that couldn't happen for a long time.

You spent the next couple weeks thinking about what you should do. You really felt like you owed it to Henry to tell him that he was going to be a father. You weren't sure how to contact him though. In the end, you decided the best option was to send a letter to his manager. You'd found her information online, and had an address.

You were a lawyer, working with high profile clients regularly, so you hoped that the law firm name in the corner of the envelope would be enough to get her to open it.

Now you just needed to find the best way to convey the information, making it clear that you wanted nothing from him. You'd never deny him the right to see his child, but you also wouldn't hold it against him if he chose to stay out of the child's life. It would be his decision. Sending a letter meant he'd have the opportunity to process the information without the pressure of you being there.

You started drafting a letter after work one day. Nobody knew you were pregnant, and you intended to keep it that way for as long as possible. You thought you needed to tell Henry before anyone else found out.
