CAROLINE WALKED OUT of her final class of the day. thankful that the day was over, she quickly put all the books she didn't need for homework back in her locker; stuffing the rest in her backpack.

getting the rest of her things together, caroline started to walk towards the back entrance nearest to her locker. today, she had her first skating practice since last year. she was training for nationals; making sure her routine would be absolutely perfect.

she quickly texted jonah; letting him know that they couldn't hang out right away due to her practice. it sucked in a way. as much as phelps wanted to be with her best friend - she didn't really have the time.

having the chance at the olympics; especially at her she was a huge deal to her. and the carlson girl knew that jonah understood but, that still didn't mean it sucked less.

putting her phone away, the caramel haired girl made her way to door entrance. "wait- caroline! wait up," a voice calls after her, footsteps jogging behind her.

there was a scent of a chanel cologne. and only one person in the school had the exact cologne scent; hunter. the carlson girl sighed softly waiting for her crush to catch up to where she was standing.

"hey hunter," she smiles sweetly, holding her backup on her left shoulder.

the green-hazel eyed boy smiles and nods towards her, his backpack placed perfectly on his opposite shoulder to caroline. "hey, i was going to study at the library this afternoon for our math quiz. do you wanna study with me?"

that perfectly white smile forms on the boy's face; the one that always makes the caramel haired girl's heart melt. there was no way could say 'no' to him. but, she had to. practice was more important than just some high school crush.

as much as caroline hated it - she knew that was the choice she had to make. although it was her crush. her crush for seven whole years. she'd been waiting for years for this moment to finally come.

the moment hunter would ask her out.

technically, it wasn't actually a 'date'. although, it was still a chance to hang out with him. what if she never got an opportunity to be with hunter ever again? if she declined, would he think she's a bitch? or what if he asks someone else and then starts to like her?

thinking of all the different scenarios that caroline could lose spending time with hunter ever again frightened her. she really really liked him. but, she also needed to be ready for nationals.

caroline sighs, knowing her decision. "listen hunter- you're a great guy but, i can't, i have skating practice." thankfully, hunter smiles and nods understanding.

"it's cool caroline, i didn't know you skate- that's awesome!" he smiles, running his hands through his hair.

a small blush forms on the caramel haired girl's cheeks, "yeah, i've been doing it for awhile. i'm trying to make it big... you know, to the olympics."

hunter's eyes widen at the girl's words. she giggles a little at his face, then frowns when seeing the time on her phone; 3:30 pm. her practice was in an hour and was a thirty minute drive without traffic.
