Chapter Three

Ace was sitting on a bench. His last class had ended about an hour earlier.

He was really confused, thinking back on what the boy had said the same morning, but he couldn't do anything about it. Or, well, that's a lie. He could ask Lee. But he didn't want to. It would be embarrassing if it all turned out to be a joke, and he didn't want things to be embarrassing.

"Hey, what'cha thinkin' about?" Lee sat down beside him on the bench, smirking at him.

"Nothing..." Ace said, looking away and slightly blushing. Dammit, now I'm having this weird feeling in my chest again... What the hell is this?

"That expression is screaming out 'something' all over the place, so tell me your problem." Lee said, smiling. There's that nice smile again! Just cut it out, won't'cha? I don't like that smile, it makes me feel all weird!

"I... Don't have a problem." Ace mumbled as Lee rolled his eyes.

"Boy, you've got a serious lack of intelligence." he said and chuckled.

"Okay, fine. Some kid told me that I am a some kind of 'victim' and that you're gonna play me and stuff, so now I'm all confused and don't really know what to do."

"Some kid told you what!?"

"You heard me."

"That brat..." Lee murmured.

"What did you just say?" Ace asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing, nothing." Lee smiled a smile that was obviously fake and stood up, then he walked away. Ace were left sitting on the bench.

"Dammit, he's complicated..." Ace murmured to himself and got up. He was silently walking home, over thinking everything. He always thought too much in situations like these. He just panicked. Always panicking, always thinking too much... Always being unsure. That was Ace's image, or at least that was what he believed himself.

When Ace got home, he was really tired and just sunk down in his sofa. He glared at the roof with tired eyes, and everything slowly became a blur.

When he was just about to fall asleep, the doorbell rang.

"What the..." Ace murmured to himself, getting up from the sofa. He walked to the door and looked through the peephole. Then he opened the door.

"Dammit, Lee, dammit! I was just about to fall asleep and then you rang the doorbell! What do you want from me anyways?" Lee glared at Ace with big eyes, shocked over that Ace scolded him.

"I'm sorry for... Not letting you sleep, and... I just came by to ask if I could stay here over the night." Lee mumbled, clearly ashamed. He had obviously not expected that Ace would yell at him like that.

Ace blushed.

"Why would you want to stay the night here...?" he asked quietly.

"Just 'cause my parents need to borrow my house since they're having a some-kind-of party or something and their house is too small or something. I really don't get how they're thinking' since their house is a lot bigger than mine." Lee explained. Ace thought a few minutes before he nodded.

"Sure, you can stay here if you don't mind my mother. She's... Well, you'll see." Ace said and gave him a little smile.

"Great, thanks, by the way, do you mind if I stay here more than one night?" Lee asked, walking inside.
