The new moon

Chapter 1

Even before Lilly got trapped in a cavern she was having a very rotten day. 

Her dad just announced that he and her mom we're getting divorced. 

And if that wasn't bad enough her dad said that she was going to a lady's finishing school across 

the country.

 Her dad knew that she hated finishing schools but he wanted her to go to the same school her 

mom went to. 

She never wanted to go because she loved painting and getting dirty and hanging her friends.

 But no, say goodbye to a wonderful school year with friends and fun. 

And say hello to boring ness and proper ness and (gag) dresses. 

She and no idea if she had even worn a dress in her life. 

And worst of all she was staying there the entire year. 

Her dad said she got a dorm room and everything! 

She wanted the school year to be like last year where she went to school for the day and came 

back home in the afternoon.

 It was like her dad was getting rid of her.

 But wait it gets even worse, her dad said that once she came back from school in June there 

would be a surprise waiting for her. 

You might be thinking, a surprise how could that be bad? 

But when she came home from that last day of school he said he had the surprise he promised 

her, so she asked "What is it?" And he answered "The finishing school in California said they 

would accept you for this coming school year!" "Isn't that great?"

 No, It was the worst news she had ever heard. But she knew not to upset her dad so she said 

"Yes that is amazing!" With no enthusiasm. Then she stormed up the stairs and into her room.

 So for the rest of the summer she was in her room glaring at her bedroom door. 

But one day she see's a puff of orange smoke in the distance so she goes out on her porch and

 grabs a book on the way outside and starts reading so if there is another puff of smoke she 

could see it.
