I am sitting on a log around the fire, it had rained the night before meaning it was more of a smoke than a fire. I look across the fire and see Coralee and Harrison, we look like we could be siblings, we have the same black eyes, the same pale complexion, and the same fluid movements. The only physical difference is our hair, Coralee has beautiful shoulder-length chestnut hair, Harrison has raven black hair, and I have chin-length strawberry blonde hair.
These similarities are due to the fact that we all have been infected. Infected by Lamiamorbus, or more commonly known as Vampire Disease. We were all affected by this disease 200 hundred years ago, we found each other and made a coven. Coven's are rare, most vampires try to kill themselves but we love it. We love to see the fear in our victim's eyes, we love to see the blood fade from their faces, and the light flick off in their eyes. Today is the start of the Blood Harvest, which falls on the week of Halloween.
"Are we hunting tonight, Cordelia?" Coralee asks, her voice bouncing off the proud cedar trees that encircle the clearing we have made our temporary home.
"I don't see why we shouldn't, but we will need to move after we have our fill. The humans will go on a hunt, and I'm not quite ready to die yet." I respond, a smirk spreading across my face.
"I don't care that we have to move, I am starving." Harrison chimes in. Coralee nods in agreement.
"Good, we'll wait till midnight, we'll have our full powers then," I murmur. They nod their heads in agreement.
"I take it we are going to Greenland Hollow?" Harrison asks.
I nod my head, I slide down off my log and lay my back against the log, although Vampires don't sleep I let my eyelids slide shut. I stay like this till I feel a tingle start at my silent heart, I sit up and I can see the other two's eyes grow wide and I know they feel it too. This means it's midnight, our power is growing.
"Are you guys ready?" I say a smirk splitting across my face.
They nod their heads, I extinguish the fire with the jug and take off towards the forest, I hear the other two on my heels. Harrison on my left, Coralee on my right. We reach the town border quickly, we pull to a stop, I inhale and the sharp scent of blood is hanging in the air. My teeth snap into place, and the venom fills my mouth.
"Let's hunt." I hiss.
We approach the first house and I tried to open the window, to my relief it slide open, this makes my life easier because breaking the window just is a mess and it's loud. I slip through the window into my hunting crouch. My eyes adjust to the darkness, I slink forward. The other two are still on my flanks, I can smell 2 people in the house. Darn, I was hoping 3, then we can all feed at the same time.
"You two can have these," I whisper, knowing my voice is just a hum to human ears, but they can hear me just as clear as if I was shouting. They nod and silently make their way to the stairs, they disappear from view. I hear a ruckus, kind of sounds like a dog, but I didn't smell a dog in the house, the noise dies down. They appear a little later, Coralee is a mess, we slip out of the window.
"Coralee what happened." I hiss. She looks sheepish, almost guilty.
"They had a dog, he started growling and attacking me...so I killed it." She looks down. "Please don't be mad, I know you don't like me killing the pets." She sounds like she would be crying if vampires could.
"It's fine, please don't tell me you drained it," I say, knowing that animal blood is dangerous for us.
"What do you take m-" Coralee snaps. I slap my hand over her mouth, her eyes grow wide with her realization. We slip into a triangle, backs facing each other, our black eyes dancing over the windows checking for lights. We wait for about 5 minutes. When we don't hear anything we stand straight. I glare at Coralee, she withers under my gaze.
"Sorry" she mouths. I turn my gaze back to the road. I inhale, we need a single human. I need to feed before the night is over, I run through the village when I pick up a single human sent walking in and out of a house. The other two pull to a stop.
"Wait here I'll be back in just a second." I whisper, ice in my voice.
I am so hungry and I can't keep check of my voice. They nod, I try a window it doesn't open, I run around the house trying all the windows. Not a single one opened, I grimace once I reach the front of the house again. I look at them, they nod their head, I shut my eyes and punch the glass. I shudder against the noise and the feeling of the glass scraping against my hard skin. I break a bigger hole in the window and slip into the house, I fly up the stairs and walk into the room where the scent is strongest.
I grimace when I see an old lady asleep in the bed, I hate draining old people, their blood tastes old and musty. But the need for any blood is too strong, I dive for the body, I feel my teeth rip through the skin and muscle. I feel the warm gush of blood fill my mouth, I drain her. I leave the body and reach the window, wrinkling my nose at the musty taste in my mouth, I slip outside and regroup.
"You good?" Harrison asks, probably referring to my sour expression.
"Yeah, it was just an old lady that's all." I respond. They nod, we've all drained old people before. We head out of the town's borders, we won't return here for 2-3 years.

Short StoryI don't think any of these will be anime-themed/anime-based but I don't know this is really just a way to dump anything that forms in my mind out on 'paper'. Plots will be random and mostly fantasy or dystopian.
