Why so soon?

"I love you baby," I whisper as we get in the car that is idling in front of the church.

We finally cleared the onslaught of rice that had been being thrown at us from the moment the church doors opened.

"I love you too," My wife says, straightening out her suit jacket.

I lay my head on her shoulder, my dirty blonde curls cascading down her shoulder. She wraps her arm around my waist pulling me closer to her side. I can feel my face heat up, no matter how many times this happens she'll always have the same effect on me.

The car starts moving and I lean forward and see my parents standing on the church steps, my mom is dabbing her handkerchief across her face. My dad has his arm around my mom's shoulders and is waving at the retreating car. I see Sam's mom standing across from my parents. She is also crying but isn't making any attempt to wipe away the tears.

When we finally round the corner taking my view of all of the people that came to support Sam and I, I lean back into the loving embrace of my wife. My giddy heart races at the thought, after 5 and a half long years I finally get to call her mine.

"What are you looking so happy about Bea?" Sam says.

"I can finally call you mine," I say, feeling slightly foolish.

Whether it's the red hot flush or my words I'm unsure but Sam starts chuckling.

"It's not funny Sam," I protest, turning to press my face into her shoulder.

This just gets Sam laughing harder, tears pooling in the corners of her eyes.

"Rude," I huff turning away.

"Awe, come on don't be like that," Sam says trying to stop laughing.

I tilt my head up adamant to not acknowledge her. I feel a hand under my chin forcing my head to turn, I am met by a soft kiss that makes the receding blush come back.

"I'm sorry babe," Sam says, her storm grey eyes honest. God damnit why the hell does she have to be so hot, I scream in my mind.

"You're fine," I mumble as the car pulls to a stop in front of our apartment.

We climb out of the car and make our way up to our apartment, I step aside as Sam digs through her pockets pulling out a set of keys. She unlocks it, but before she opens the door she turns to me. I cock my head to one side confused before I know it Sam has swept me off my feet and into her arms.

"Gah! Samantha!" I shriek as I wrap my arms around her neck.

"What, I've been waiting to do this for a while now," She says as she opens the door and walks us inside.

"A warning would have been nice," I giggle kicking my feet.

She puts me back on my feet in our room, she gives me another kiss before turning and taking her suit jacket off.

"That bloody thing is so hot," She grumbles.

"Your bitching about a suit, what about me," I mock pout as I point down at my dress.

It's an off-white lace mermaid style dress, with a sweetheart neckline, it has slight beading all around the dress.

"Hey, it's not MY fault you chose that one," She says, an overdramatic hand pressed to her chest.

"Wait. Yes, it is," I respond with the same light tone in my voice.

Amongst much protest from my mom, grandma, sisters, and aunt. I had invited Sam to my dress hunting. I was going for more of a ball gown but my sisters, (and let's be honest Sam) wanted me in something form-fitting.
