The students of Goen Hall couldn't help but stare in awe and somewhat intimidation as they passed by the five gorgeous, masculine, and very tall men standing in front of the dormitory taking in the view. The girls giggled and pointed, giving them flirtatious smiles. The guys made a wide path around them and kept walking. These men were rich, powerful, and alphas. They had proved to everyone on campus and off that they were not to be messed with. And now they had returned taller, more masculine than ever, and a lot more mature which made them sort of terrifying despite their handsome features.
Brent Jaggers, Scott Jacobs, Chris Wayne, Tyrese Whinston, and Lee Brinks stood there with arms crossed and feet apart as they surveyed the entire campus. This year they were seniors, and the entire campus was theirs to rule as they please, not that they didn't have the power to do it when they were sophomores and juniors, but this time it was official.
Brent, the biggest one of all of them with muscles that never seem to end, stepped in front, and stared off into the distance, his black curls blowing in the wind as those midnight blue eyes watched the students below carefully.
The king was searching for his queen.
She was back a day earlier than expected and had already left the airport. She'd spent one month with him and the other two months visiting her family from her father's side in Mississippi. He'd missed her like crazy. So much that he'd taken a road trip with Scott to see her. Now, where the hell was she? He thought as he scanned the crowd impatiently. She had no business leaving him in the first place.
Cathy stopped at the first step when she saw who was waiting for her at the top. She shook her head and let out a soft, surprised laugh. She'd made the mistake of telling Brent that her folks wanted her to stay for the rest of year in Mississippi and he'd gone ballistic. He'd threatened to bring the entire group with him to drag her back to California. And now, there he was with his crew backing him up with his threat. Every one of them were there to show her, they agreed to his craziness. One thing hadn't changed about Brent, he still had the personality of a caveman.
Saying he was upset when she told him she'd be spending two months of their summer with her family from her father's side was putting it lightly. She'd only been gone for one month before he showed up out of the blue with Scott telling her he'd decided to take a road trip and she just happened to be on his way to New York. He'd stayed for three days and three days was how long it took for him to wreak havoc on the whole town.
It wasn't that he'd done anything wrong, Brent was just being Brent, which meant when a tall, muscular, good-looking White guy pulled up in an expensive sports car in front of her grandmother's humble looking home in the country, the entire neighborhood walked out on their porches to stare with open mouths...she wondered how many people mistakenly swallowed flies that day.
And there she was standing there holding a milk pail from milking the cows that morning. Something no one was ever supposed to see or know about during her lifetime. Totally embarrassing...
Rumors spread like wildfire and before she knew it, she'd become the talk of the town. Little sweet Cathy Sanova who had been too shy to even go on a date with a guy, suddenly had a handsome, wealthy, city boyfriend who was crazy about her.
"She dun gone to California and got herself a rich White man!" The women said slapping their hands on their hips and laughing in surprise.
The men just stared at Brent and Scott up and down suspiciously until he bought them drinks at a bar, volunteered to carry his weight by working with them in the fields picking cotton, and hung out with them on their porches drinking and joking around. They had fit right in, the only two White guys in a mostly Black farmer town.
