Brent stood in the pool room with most of his friends. Chris, Scott, Tyrese, Hayden, Randall and Faze were watching him with strange looks as he shot the wrong balls in the pockets. His mind was somewhere else instead of focusing on the game he was losing to Tyrese.

Chris raised a brow at him and shook his head. "All right spill it, what's on your mind, Brent, cause I don't think I can take this anymore. This is just sad, man!"

Brent looked up at his friends and let out a loud sigh as he ran a hand through his black curly locks. "Cathy found out about the letter before I could tell her."

Chris threw his hands up in the air and let out a scoff. "I knew it, I knew it! I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so! You should have taken my advice and told her as soon as you got that letter."

"Were you ever planning to tell her?" Scott asked.

"I don't know," Brent sighed. "It was a topic I was trying to avoid because it would cause problems in our relationship, but the longer I waited..."

"The more it hurt her?" Chris finished for him.

Brent nodded and threw down his pool stick on the table.

"Damn," Scott shook his head and crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall. "How hurt is she?"

"She's trying to play it cool, but I know how she gets when she's upset about something. She won't talk about it and buries herself in her work. She's been avoiding me for a week. She always has an excuse whenever I try to spend some private time with her."

"Avoiding you huh? This means you ain't getting none? That's why you been out of it for so long? Aw hell naw. How are you still alive man?" Tyrese asked him.

"I'm trying to give her space and let her deal with it, after all, I've known for at least a year and she just found out."

Faze gave Brent a guilty look. "I'm sorry, it's my fault she found out. It sort of slipped out when we were discussing your future with her and I told her I heard you telling Chris in the student union that you decided not to go. I thought she already knew..."

"It's ok Faze, I'm sure she would have found out sooner or later. I'd mistakenly left the second letter in the desk drawer we share."

Tyrese shook his head. "Brent, What the hell is wrong with you, man? When I got my offer to play in the National Basketball League, I was like...see ya! I signed that piece of paper so fast I ended up giving myself carpal tunnel. Never ran so fast in my life to get to a mailbox. There was NO hesitation. I know Cathy told you to go. She wouldn't try to hold you back from living your dream. So, what's the problem?"

"I'm afraid I might lose her," Brent told him. "I don't want to risk it."

"Damn man, is the pussy that good!? Cause our queen got you whipped so badly; you can't even think straight!"

Scott burst out laughing when Brent's face turned red at Tyrese's choice of words.

"I can't say I blame him," Tyrese grinned. "My girl got me all screwed up in the head too with that tight little virgin shit. I'm going to tell you, ain't nothing like virgin pussy to fuck up a man's life, especially knowing you're the first to explore that unknown territory. That shit will make a man lose his mind and forget everything important to him. All y'all know what I'm talking about, Chris, Brent, your girls were virgins too and you got to admit can't nothing compare to it. It's all tight and new and all yours, you go into that shit knowing you've molded it to the curve of your dick alone and no one else's. Hell, if my girl ever cheated on me, I'd know, I know every fucking detail of that tight little..."
