Kain killed Mobius, the time streamer.
His spirit now in the spectral realm was faced with Raziel.
After a short conversation, Raziel absorbed Mobius's spirit and used his body to manifest himself in the material realm.

Kain thought that it was Mobius coming back and thrusted his Reaver blade in Mobius chest.

" You do so enjoy dying, Mobius!?

When Raziel spoke, Kain was in shock, and for the very first time, Kain actually felt panic, followed by sympathy and remorse.

Raziel, No!
Raziel explained that it was alright, and that's how things were supposed to end; and as always, he is Kain's weapon.
Raziel then got absorbed by the Reaver blade.

After kain absorved Raziel's soul into the Reaver Blade, he immediately starts thinking about a way to bring him back.
Kain was obviously furious, as that wasn't the outcome he expected.
Raziel was always a free soul.
Bound only by the elder God who tried to keep him complacent.
My God. The Hylden. We fell right into their trap.

The Hylden, being an ancient foe and the catalyst to all of this, had to be destroyed once and for all.

I'll deal with them later, but for now, I have leverage with someone else.

Kain approached the cathedral balcony overlooking the mountains.

I'm coming for you, Mortanious.

Kain arrived at Mortanious mantion.
Ah! My prodigal son returns.
I must say that I'm disappointed in your progress. I imagined you'd be here sooner.
- If that is your sense of humor; save it... are you going to ask me if it troubled me to kill Moebius or your fake God?
... or are you going to blame me for what happened to Raziel?
- It was your sword... Kain.
Don't insult my intelligence, Mortanious. We all know you orchestrated all this with the Hylden.
- Me? I made you Kain... and all the other vampires. Why would I kill my own offspring?
Are you going to make me waste time in speculation, or save us all the time, and you tell me what deal you made with the Hylden?
From the moment you refused the sacrifice, the hylden and I had an agreement.
In order for us to restore this land, we needed to make a new deal.
We would plan your demise.
However, we did not predict your latest... desperate move.
Raziel.
- Indeed. For those who were patient and wise enough to understand, they figured out that you put up a theatrical move to look like you killed raziel out of jealousy. When we know that you were aware of the potential, he had to manipulate fate.

As Mortanious mentioned raziel as an imbue, it immediately sparked curiosity in kain.

Raziel: "We all knew what it meant when kain drew the soul reaver in anger. It meant you were dead."

A battle broke between kain and mortaneous.
Kain realised that the reaver now not only drew blood from its victims but also their life force... meaning, their souls.
Mortanious fell weak on the floor.
- You'll never get away with this kain.
Oh, but I already am.
- I am your maker.
Tell it to someone who cares.
- You can't do this...
Go to hell.

Kain impaled mortaneous with the reaver.
His soul began to coil around the Reaver Blade, together with absorving blood to feed Kain.
It seems that he gained Raziel's ability to absorb enemy souls and obtain their skills.
In this case, Kain earned the ability to possess other beings with Raziel's soul.
So now raziel could manifest himself physically in any format kain commanded... any living vessel.
Also, he could summon/release raziel in the spirit realm by slamming the reaver into the ground, and recall him, or let him come back by himself into the reaver.

Suddenly, there was an earthquake.
Kain said to himself that nosgoth was falling apart.

Kain made his way to the nearest time travel chamber in order to teleport into a different time.
"I need to get out of here."
However, he got teleported into a different world.
