Kid's P.O.V.
I walk to Maka's apartment with a small, blue bowed gift in my pocket. I smile and think of her reaction. Wait, what if she doesn't like it? Oh Death.... My thoughts were interrupted as I saw Soul walk out of their shared, much to my discontent, apartment.
His eyes were dark and his hands were in tight fists. His hair was still slightly rumpled from sleep. Asymmetrical.... Soul looks at me and glares. I shrug and push past him roughly. Soul just smirks and shakes his head.
"I swear. If you hurt her, you won't live another minute when I find out. That's not a threat, it's a promise." Soul looks me dead in the eye as he says this. I know he loves her. I know and I can almost admire him for it. He loves Maka but unlike me, this love is unrequited. I smirk and shake his now outstretched hand firmly.
"I won't ever hurt her. That's a promise I will keep, even if it kills me. I swear on symmetry."
Maka's P.O.V.
I run to my room and take of the dress, slipping on some jeans and a black hoodie over a tank top. I brush my teeth and hair quickly, leaving my hair down. I hear a knock come from the door and I grab a book hastily, jumping on the couch before calling out,
"Come in!" And, much to my surprise, Kid walks in, smiling sheepishly.
"Oh! Hey Kid. I was just um... reading." I smile. He nods at the book and chuckles, coming to sit next to me on the couch.
"I'm sure you weren't planning on reading the whole book upside down?" He smiles playfully. I blush and turn the book around.
"Oh yeah... Oops." I smile. Kid hands me a blue wrapped box from behind his back and smiles. My eyes widen and I take the gift guiltily.
"Oh Kid... You really shouldn't have. I didn't get you anything." Kid shakes his head and smiles.
"I can think of something I want." He winks. "But first, just open it. " I nod and open the box to find two, identical skull shaped hair clips. I smile and hug Kid tightly.
"This is perfect! Thank you!" Kid smiles and gently turns me around.
"Here, let me put them on." I nod and give the skull clips to Kid. He carefully puts my hair into symmetrical pigtails before clipping the clips to my hair.
"There. Perfect." He says and smiles. I smile too and kiss his now red cheek.
"I love this. Thank you. Now, what can I give you?" Kid smiles and takes my hand. He leans in closer to me.
"I think you know what I want. All I want is you Maka, forever and always." He smiles and I wrap my arms around his neck and sit on his lap, facing him.
"Okay." I lightly kiss his lips and I smile against his mouth. "Let's watch something! Lets watch something romantic!?" I smile and Kid rolls his eyes but smiles.
"Okay. You pick." I smile and look through all of Soul's and my old movies and I decide on Titanic. I put in the dvd, grab the remote, turn up the volume, and sit next to Kid, cuddling on his chest. He grabs a blanket from the edge of the couch and wraps it around my shoulders. As the movie credits start to roll I sigh and rest my eyes, yawning. It's been a while since I've had a good rest. I feel so safe with Kid here. So sweet.
Kid's P.O.V.
I feel as Maka breathes deeply in her sleep and I smile, looking at her cute face.
"I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it." My attention turns back to the movie as Jack says this. " You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes to you... to make each day count." I smile and look at Maka. My time with her is precious. Each day, I have to live to it's fullest. I love you Maka. Happy Valentines Day...
I kiss Maka's forehead and she smiles in her sleep slightly.
