Friday 13th of September:

Two weeks of school has passed in a blip, I made my way over to Samira's house for a little get together with us and the lads. Samira really wants this evening to be relaxing as after weeks of practicing and friendly games of netball; she needed to recharge before competitive league games starts next week. I'm not interested in netball or any sports, but when Samira gets into the quarter-finals, that's when I support her with a huge banner and go to her every game like her number one super fan; I don't enjoy it and get cold.

I knock on the door and walk right in; her house is my second home, and mine is hers; I see James in the kitchen pinching food off the table but he gets scowled by Mrs Knight (Samira's Mum and I like to think mine too). He gets the hint and moves away whilst sending a few messages to whoever. Then I see both Caleb and Oliver working up a sweat reorganising the furniture in the living room under the bossy orders of our dear host, Samira. I kick my shoes off and place them on the rack and the ones left disorganised in the middle of the foyer; I'm guessing James was too lazy to pick his shoes up and put them away like everyone else.

I make my way over to the kitchen to offer any help, but the sound of bottles clinking together came from within the dining room which caught my attention. So, I went over to investigate. Rowan was rummaging through the liquor cabinet for some booze like a very indiscreet thief. His newly dyed fluffy hair was in the most vibrant colours of pastel pink, purple and blue, which gave it a cotton candy appearance that wouldn't go unnoticed.

"Rowan, Heaven to god, what are you doing?" I said in my best impression of Mrs Knight; Rowan yelped and took a step away from the open cabinet as if to look innocent of the crime. He looked in my direction and told me he seriously thought Mrs Knight had caught him. With a smile on my face, I helped him get a bottle of whisky and vodka out of the cabinet into his jacket pockets and past Samira's mum towards the living room. The two couches were now facing each other with the coffee table between. Mrs Knight had finished in the kitchen and said goodbye to us all as she headed out the door for the evening.

"Sam, has your mum got a date tonight? She looked quite glam!" Rowan asked with his drawn-on eyebrows raised in question as he fished the bottles of liquor out of his jacket and onto the table.

"She does" she said without giving any more information away as she placed an empty bottle on its side onto the table to spin.

"Spin the bottle?" I questioned as I gave her a look that signified that I knew she had ulterior motives for tonight. She gave me a smile back in response and a glance towards Oliver who sat on the other end of their couch with James between them. Caleb was next to me with his arm over my shoulder bringing me closer to him whilst Rowan was on the other side lining up shots of whisky and vodka.

"Let's make this interesting, each-time the bottle lands on you. Drink a shot of either whisky or vodka!" he said, upping the stakes.

"I'm down with that" James said; he has managed to get crumbs in his brown wavy hair which parted in the middle into curtains.

With that Samira span the bottle but instead of landing on Oliver as she had hoped; it had landed on James. With that, they both took a shot off the table and threw it down their necks before they puckered up and gave each other a kiss. It was quick and simple, but James had a grin on his face like a Cheshire cat. A few rounds went by; Oliver & Caleb, Me & Samira, Rowan & James, Caleb & Rowan and James & Caleb; pretty much everyone has had a turn and most were a little tipsy. We took a break from the game to stock our cardboard plates full with food that was spread out across the kitchen table by Mrs Knight.
