Chapter 9

Noah's POV

Today we are heading to the ball. I would've asked Jules if she wanted to go with me but Kassidy beat me to it by asking me first. I couldn't deny the offer as that would be mean. Plus I would usually taker her anyway and if I didn't take her this time she would throw a fit.

Right now we're in a limo heading to Carlos' allie's place for the ball. Jules is looking out the window. I stare at her without meaning to when an arm loops itself in my arm. I turn to see Kassidy who glares at Jules.

What the hell did Jules do wrong?

We arrive at our destination. I help Kassidy out of the car and is about to do the same to Jules when Jordan extends his hand out for her to take.

I felt like strangling him right then and there.

I'm not sure where my relationship with Jules stands. But what I know is that I definitely want to try be more than whatever we are. But as long as Kassidy is in the picture that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

"This place is huge," Madi says as she walks with Chase. We all follow behind Carlos and Lily as they get checked in. 

The place really is huge. Women wearing fancy gowns surrounded the place with men in rich suits by their side. On the side I can we those slutty girls who end up coming here just because of their 'date'.

I know who I will be avoiding tonight.

We greet some guests. Kassidy and I are walking when a man approaches us. I don't know him too well but he's one of Carlos' other allies. So we have to be nice.

"Noah is it?" The man asks. I nod my head. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Gio," He holds his hand out for me to shake. reluctantly take it in a firm grip. 

Then he turns to Kassidy who waves at him. "And who might you be?" The man, Gio, asks.

I was about to say something when she interrupts me. "I'm his girlfriend." I turn to look at her. "Right Noah?" She asks me with a smile on her face. 

"Umm. I mean sure but--" I get cut off.

"Yeah we are. Don't we look good together?" Kassidy asks Gio. Gio looks between us and a wide smile forms on his face.

"Yes, yes. Lovely couple," Gio says and walks off.

I turn back to face Kassidy who has a smirk on her face. Then her eyes drift to behind me. I turn around to see Jules behind us. Looking sad.

Fucking bitch.

She walks away before I can even say anything. "Jules!" I call after her. I start walking until a hand stops me. I turn back to face Kassidy. "What's your problem?" I practically yell at her.

"Let her be Noah. If she wants to be a sensitive bitch let her be a sensitive bitch." Kassidy grits out. I shrug her arm off me and look to find Jules in this crowded place. I can hear Kassidy call after me but I don't give a shit about her right now.

I bump into Jordan who looks pissed off. "Have you seen Jules?" I ask him panic in my voice. 

"If I did I wouldn't tell you. You have a girlfriend. Go worry about her." Jordan says and storms off. I scoff at him and start searching for Lily. Once I see her I spot Carlos next to her. Lily looks....upset?

I approach them and I see carlos tense. Lily looks up and sees me. She narrows her eyes into a glare. "yes?" She asks 

"Have you seen Jules--" She cuts me off.

"No, I don't know." She says and swats me away. 

Where the hell did she go? I decide to go outside to see if I can find her. But she's gone. I feel like my heart has been ripped out. I did not expect this not to go like this. I will have a word with Kassidy soon. 

I bring out my phone and tried calling Jules but it goes straight to voicemail. I spot Chase talking to one of our good friends and walk up to him. I tap on his shoulder getting his attention. 

At least he's the only one who doesn't know what's going on "Chase, I'm gonna head home. I don't feel very well." I tell him.

He gives me a thumbs up and I bolt right out of the ball. I call a cab to take me home. Once we arrive I quickly pay the driver and run towards the entrance of the house. A few guards nod to me on the way out of respect.

I rush upstairs to my room but she isn't there. I look around the house to find Jules. I sigh when there was no sign of her here. She probably went back to her apartment. Right now I just need a good night's sleep and get ready for what is to come the next day.
