Amy Reid has been in the army for almost a year now. This would be the last mission she does before she can go home to her mom and brother. Throughout her time here she has been writing so many letters to them to let them know that she was okay and that she'll be home soon.

"MAIL CALL" Amy ran out of her bunk and right to her superior officer. Before she could even ask He handed her a letter. "I know your brother's handwritten Reid you don't even gotta ask if you got a letter." She thanked him and went right back to her bed to read the letter. Amy ripped the letter open as the voice of her brother came alive in her head as two picture fell from the envelop

Hey Amy,

I really wish you were here right now with Mom and me. We celebrated your birthday this month, mom asked about you and I told her what you told me in your last letter she keeps calling you "her brave soldier" and can't wait to see you here with us. I got my letter back from the Bureau and you are now reading a letter written from Dr. Spencer Reid, newest member to Behavioral Analysis Unit. I got the book that you sent me for my birthday by the way, I still don't know how you found a limited edition of The narrative of John Smith. Everyone here seems really nice for the most part. Aaron Hotchner is really nice and I think he is still hesitant about having me in the field because of my age but Jason Gideon seems to really believe in me. A new tech started, her name is Penelope Garcia, and I think you two would become really good friends considering both of your personalities are so similar, but I feel like you two would hack into the government facilities. Elle Greenaway and Jennifer Jareau remind me so much of you, they are acting like my sisters. Don't worry no one can replace you Mi-Mi. There is this one guy that is annoying but I can handle it. He's name is Derek Morgan and he looks out for me but treats me like a five year. I can't wait for you to meet them sis. I know you'll love them as much as I do. Hopefully this month ends soon and I get to see you again. I miss you a lot Mi-Mi and so does mom I put a picture of Agent Gideon and I on my first day of the Bureau and one I took with mom on your birthday. Love you MI-Mi

Sincerely, your baby brother Spencer

P.S. When you get back I'm going to take a few weeks off and we can go to Las Vegas. We can visit mom and celebrate all of our birthdays together.

Amy picked up the pictures that fell and walked over to her bag that she took to every base that she was stationed at. She kept a scrapbook of all of Spencer's letters and pictures that she gets. Amy placed Spencer's newest letter in the book along with the letters. They write to each other so often that the book was almost full of letter and pictures. She even had a few letters from her mom from when she first left but her letters stopped coming after the fourth month of Amy being gone. She knew this would happen due to her mother's schizophrenia but Amy still wrote two letters, one to Spencer and one to their mom. Amy had just finished writing the second letter when she looked at the clock and she realized that she needed to get ready to leave. "Hey Johnson got letters for ya."

"Oh Reid promise me that we'll stay in touch when we get back to the states. I'ma miss our little chats every day" Amy gave Johnson a smile and gave him the letters.

"Course Rich, promise me one thing since you are gonna get back before me I want you to give these letters to my brother. His name is Spencer and he lives in Virginia. You better tell him that I'll be back or I'm gonna personally kick your ass." Amy laughed.

"I promise Ams." Richard took the letters and placed them in his bag. Johnson is leaving in two weeks while Amy would still be away. She gave Rich one last hug before she got ready to leave. "Amy," She turned around. "be careful please. I know you are good at stealth, but I know you. You told me how you would rather take the beating than your brother and I know you would rather to take the bullets than your team." She knew what he was getting at and saw the look in his eyes. "Amy you better be back in the states got it." He laughed getting choked up.

"Who do you take me for Rich? I'm smarter than a look buddy." Amy laughed and then left to get ready. Two hours later Amy was in the truck with her team as they drove behind enemy line. The mission was to find information about some weapons that were being worked on. Amy was the only one that was able to make it in the building while her team stood guard. When Amy went farther into the building she heard gun shots and started running. By the time she got out she saw her whole team laying there dying. Before she could even get her gun ready something hit her on the back of her head. She wasn't unconscious but she felt the blood coming from her head when she reached for her knife. She was able to slice the person that hit on his face, the crimson the shot from his eye shined on her knife. She ran straight into the wooded area surrounding the base when pain shot right through her arm. By the time she stopped running Amy had a feeling that she wasn't going to make it. But she promised her brother that she'll be home. Her vision blurred and her head was throbbing. Amy laid down with her back against the tree while still gripping her bullet wound tight. She looked up at the moon as she whispered "Re-Re....I'm sorry...." then the darkness came as she passed out due to blood lost.
