Have you seen the sun rise from beneath the sky?
Beams of light from the sun,
Watch the shadows run,
As the bright orange light, shines before your eyes,
Let your hopes renew,
Let your nightmares fade…
Watch the clouds give way to this newborn day,
And the children play,
On the swings they sway,
See the lovers meet on the nice, warm grass,
Look into their eyes,
And their endless love…
Can you see the ones who can only see,
Strips of faint sunlight,
Through the window sill?
And what of the strangers that pass you by,
You could never know,
Of their hidden pains…
You can never see the sadness within,
‘Cause you’ve never known,
What it’s really like,
And what if the shadows never went away?
Like the sun wouldn’t rise,
Just a worthless mirage?
You could never know that the sun won’t shine,
On their darkened souls,
Hopeless and alone,
Even as the sun shines, passing over the world,
They seem so happy,
But they’ll never be.
