"Good morning y/n," my dad spoke as he noticed me walking in the kitchen. My eyelids felt so heavy, I sat down and grabbed some fresh coffee to wake myself up. "Morning dad," I yawned as my eyes felt heavy.

Damn, I wasn't used anymore to getting up this early.

"Scrambled Eggs?" Dad chuckled as he grabbed a plate and filled it before I could even answer.
"Hmmm," I nodded sleepily." My dad placed the plate down and I picked some bread from the basket in front of me. "How did I get up so early in the past?" I mumbled.

"To start y/n, you weren't gaming until two in the morning," he replied, acting like a typical dad.
"Did you take a day off?" I asked while sipping from my coffee as I was trying to change the conversation since he caught me red-handed. I actually was playing a mobile game because I couldn't fall asleep because of the excitement.

"Yes, I did. Do you want me to drive you to school?"
"Actually, it's fine," I replied as I put my eggs between 2 bread slices, "I was planning to walk and get some fresh air on the way."

"So you think you'll survive?" He asked as he looked at me worriedly.
"Don't worry dad, lately I've been fine and I know it will be good if I talk to some people my age. I really need this, I can't stay in this house locked up forever because of what happened. It's time to break out of my bad habits," I replied with a reassuring smile. He nodded.

As we both had breakfast together and enjoyed each other's company, I saw the clock-hand getting closer to 8. " Time for me to go," I said as I stood up and put my plate and cup in the dishwasher. "Good luck on your first day of school y/n," my father yelled as he watched me grab my backpack and walked out of the door.

" Thanks, dad see you later this afternoon! " I yelled back.

Slowly I sank in my thoughts as I walked to school, I couldn't believe I was stuck in this house for months just turning around in my own self-guilt and pain. Everything felt so new and so exciting and for a second I felt myself getting a little anxious.

A loud clinging bell pulled me out of my thoughts as the road barriers of the train station in front of me went down. My eyes wandered off a nearby safety mirror near me. It felt weird, it was like the girl that was staring back at me was someone else. Not in a bad way though, I've lost some extra weight due to struggling with my mental health the last months.

There I stood dressed in a navy-blue uniform skirt, a grey v-neck sweater, and a white shirt underneath. My fingers trailed slowly over the red tie with yellow stripes. " So classy," I chuckled to myself as my backpack was the opposite.

The backpack was semi-worn out since it was my favorite one. Subtle holes covered by band patches, names of my old friends written on it in white Posca pen, and my limited edition keychain I once won because I ended in the top 50 of an MMORPG Game I daily played. It contained so many great memories that I couldn't leave behind.

I sighed as my mind trailed back to Europe. After I moved most of my friends didn't really keep in contact with me. Well, the first months they did but after I was struggling with myself I pushed a lot of them away. Guess it was my own fault too.

"Oh well... Here I am ready for a new chapter in my life."

The barriers went back up, I walked forward until I saw a bunch of loud talking students getting off the train that just passed by a couple of minutes ago. I realized they had the same uniform as me and decided to walk with the group so I wouldn't stand out too much.

"Is that a new girl?" I heard some girls whisper as they walked behind me. It seemed that the school wasn't that big and everyone knew each other since the start of the school year

Just my luck that I joined this school a couple of months after it started. I shrugged trying to push off the negative vibes and tried to ignore the girls by putting on my headphones.

After a solid 10 minutes, I finally showed up at Nekoma Highschool. It was a classic grey school building with a black gate, a sports field, and some greenery. As I tugged my backpack a little closer to my back, I searched for the office since they expected me around 8:30.
