Y/N walked into school, backpack slung over her shoulder and a smile on her face. Her eyes scanned the busy hallway until she spotted her friend Suki-chan standing with a group of people. As she approached, she saw that it was some peopleof the volleyball team. Kuroo, Yamamoto, and Inuoke were gathered, laughing and joking about their crazy hangovers from the past weekend. Meanwhile, Kenma sat quietly, engrossed in his phone as always.
A little later, Lev arrived, but he seemed upset and angry. The other boys immediately noticed his mood and playfully bumped into him, asking what was wrong. Lev sighed and explained that he was grounded for like eternity.
Apparently, someone got the upstairs toilet clogged at the party, causing water damage to his parents' expensive stairs, and someone had puked into his father's closet full of pricey clothing even when he told everybody that room was a NO go.As Lev continued to vent angrily about the mess at his house, Y/N felt a pang of guilt in her chest. She knew she should confess what had happened, but fear held her back. Instead, she looked over at the puddinghead, who had been quietly listening to the conversation.
Their eyes met, and the girl's heart skipped a beat. The faux blonde's expression was unreadable, as usual. A mix of nerves and curiosity filled the girl as she wondered what he might do and if Kozume would snitch on her.
Lev's frustration seemed to be subsiding a bit as he got things off his chest. The other boys were trying to lighten the mood, making jokes and offering solutions to Lev's predicament.
A little later the bell rang, signaling the start of the next class, and she headed towards her classroom. Kenma followed silently, and as they took their seats, the girl couldn't help but feel the weight of her secret lingering between them.
As the teacher began the lesson, Y/N discreetly tried to catch the blonde male's attention. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, hoping he would look back. After a few attempts, their eyes finally met, and she gave him a small smile, trying to convey her appreciation for his understanding.
Once their eyes locked, the girl whispered softly, "Thank you for not snitching on me, Kozume-kun. I really appreciate it."
His response was typical of his quiet nature. He simply shrugged nonchalantly and turned his attention back to the front of the classroom, seemingly dismissing the matter entirely.
She was taken aback by his response, but she also understood that Kenma wasn't one to seek acknowledgment or praise for doing the right thing.
He was always calm and composed, rarely showing emotions outwardly. Despite his lack of a verbal response, Y/N knew that his actions spoke louder than words. The day slowly went on and the two didn't really had much interaction. After 8 hours of classes both went to their afterschool clubs.
As the boy tiredly met up with the volleyball team, they head to the changing room to get into their volleyball uniforms. As the faux blonde starts changing, he can't shake the feeling of discomfort. His head is throbbing, and he feels a bit lightheaded. He musters the courage to mention it to his best friend and the team captain, Kuroo. "Hey, Kuroo, I don't feel so well. My head hurts, and I'm a bit dizzy," he says, hoping his friend would understand.
Kuroo, however, misinterprets his best-friends words, thinking that he's trying to find an excuse to skip the intense training. "Oh, come on, Kenma, not this again," Kuroo responds with a teasing grin. "You can't fool me with that. We're doing those tough runs today, and you just don't want to do them."
Kenma rolls his eyes, exasperated. He knows Kuroo is just teasing him, but he really isn't feeling well. "I'm serious, Kuroo..."
The other boys overhear their conversation and chime in with their own teasing remarks. "Kozume's trying to escape again!" Yamamoto laughs, playfully patting Kenma on the back.
