Usopp's warning didn't catch his captain's attention and he accepts the challenges from Foxy without any hesitation. Abell didn't stop Luffy and Chopper was busy tending the hooooorse, so Usopp needs to take charge somehow. However, Luffy already accepted Foxy's words before Usopp's warning can reach his ears.
"I told you not to accept!" Usopp yells furiously.
Luffy and Abell couldn't understand the situation, but Abell could sense that something was off when Foxy and his two crew mates sneer and laugh at them after challenging them. Frankly, it's pissing her off. Foxy's teasing is also getting on Luffy's nerves as well.
"But he shot the horse!" Luffy yells back as he points the injured hooorse.
All of the sudden, Tonjit grabs a gun and aims it at Foxy. Luffy yells at the old man to stop saying that Foxy is a pirate, but Tonjit refused to listen and plan on taking revenge. Quickly, Abell runs towards the man and grabs the gun away from him. Without speaking, Abell walks to Luffy and hands him the gun as if she knew what he asked of her. Luffy raises the gun and Foxy mirrors him.
BANG! BANG!
"IDIOT! IDIOT! IDIOT! IDIOT!" Usopp screams as he slaps Luffy. "Abell, why didn't you stop him?!"
"Cause I didn't feel like it." Abell said without a hint of regret.
"Do you guys know the horror of this game?" Usopp asks Luffy and Abell. "Why did you have to accept?!"
"All we have to do is win." Luffy bluntly said and Abell nods in agreement.
"Alright, the game has officially started." Foxy yells to Luffy. "You think you can beat us?"
"Of course I can split head!" Luffy yells back.
Foxy slumps to the ground depressed and Abell couldn't help but snicker at the pirate's new nickname. Apparently, the man next to Foxy thought so too. Tonjit and Sherry are pleased with Luffy accepting the challenge in their stead and that fired him up even more. With that, the Davy Back Fight will begin.
~Some minutes later...
When the crew finally met up together, Luffy, Abell and Usopp were surprised to see the Going Merry surrounded by buoys made by the Foxy Pirates. Apparently, if Luffy didn't challenge him from before, than he would've challenged Foxy here upon seeing Merry held hostage. Soon, the Foxy Pirates begin to set up tents and stands as if they are preparing for a festival in response to the start of the Davy Back Fight. Food, souvenir, and other things were being up for sale. Maybe taking the challenge wasn't so bad, looks pretty fun.
"Wow, what a festival!" Abell said with excitement.
"Are they all the split guy's crew mates?" Luffy asks.
"As soon as you accepted, these guys immediately begin to building." Zoro explained. "Too much work for a game that we will win if you ask me."
As everyone gets food and settles, Luffy and Foxy gets on the main stage as to represent each other's crew. The girl that was with Foxy, Porch, goes to the mic and begins to explain the rules. Rule #1: The crew's and flags lost in a Davy Back Fight can only be taken back by another Davy Back Fight. Rule #2: The person chosen from the crew, must swear loyalty to the winning team. Rule #3: A flag that is taken away must never be used again. Also, if anyone breaks the rules, they will be sent to Davy Jones locker, hence the name. Other rules include no changing when the game startsAfter Luffy and Foxy made the oath to accept and honor the rules, the three coins that Foxy had with him were tossed in the sea as a way to start the game. After giving Chopper an explanation on who Davy Jones is, the Straw Hat pirates regroup.
