"Happy birthday Lucy." Derek kissed the top of my head. It was an overcast day and the bell was about to ring. "Thank you Hun." I smiled, today was my 18th birthday. Derek was extra sweet which was kinda unusual. I mean don't get me wrong, he's the sweetest boy in the world, but today just felt different.

Derek and his football friends surrounded us in the parking lot. Derek got me flowers and made a cake! He was one of the best cooks I know! Especially when it was a chocolate cake with rainbow sprinkles all over it.

Ring... Ring... "I'll see you later love." He said. I kissed him goodbye. You could hear thunder, I loved it.

English was my period of the day. Mrs. Chavez was a bore. "Hey girl! Happy birthday!" My best friend named Elle ran up to me with balloon flapping in the air behind her. I put my flowers and cake on my desk and hugged her. It was two weeks since I've seen her. "Happy birthday! How was your Christmas break? What did you get?" She was definitely a motor-mouth.

We've known each other since the 7th grade and have been through a lot. Her mom died when she was nine and her dad is an alcoholic, so she just hangs out with me most of the time.

I looked at the ceiling to think of what I got for Christmas. "Lotion, gift cards, concert tickets, which you are coming with me to by the way, and a leather jacket!" It was a really fun vacation.

My mom is a fashion designer and my father is a dentist. We went to California to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles and my snooty cousins in Beverly Hills. But now I'm back in London.

"Sit down everyone we are already last into the lesson." Said Mrs. Chavez as she came in the classroom with her bag and her morning coffee. She was the one late, not us. "We have a new student, get up and introduce yourself Mr. Styles.

A tall boy with chocolate curls stood up and went before the whole class. He cleared his throat. "Hello, I'm Harry Styles." "And what do you do Mr. Styles?" Said Mrs. Chavez. I guess this is a questionnaire for him. "I work at a bakery with my father." The whole class chuckled. wow he was beautiful green eyes, look at those lips. "Sit down please. Everyone take out your memoir projects and set them on my desk."

A couple periods later was choir. It was my favourite class of the day. We were learning songs for our up coming spring concert. I hurried into the classroom. Derek wanted to go some where so we can be alone. I hated being late to places. He was complaining about a new loser that was in his third period. He was going to beat him up.

Boys, why do they think fighting is the answer to everything? I just shrugged it off, I don't get into drama, it's a waist of time. "Where have you been Lucy? Making out with your boyfriend in the hallway?" I rolled my eyes, "Shut up Jordan."

Mrs. Margeson was our director. She was sitting at her desk on her computer. She's pretty chill. The she got up and walked towards the piano. "Okay everyone before we get started we have a new student." I looked over a couple seats down from me in the bass' section. It's that Harry kid again. He looked at me then hurried to look away.

What was his problem? I don't think I looked that bad today. I liked the fact that he enjoyed music. He did his introduction like he did in English. "Okay everyone! Lets warm up, give me ahh's." she went down the scale on the piano. He was the only one I could hear out of the other three bass'. I was impressed. I couldn't help but stare at him.

His white v-neck and black skinny jeans were very attractive on him. I would melt in my seat when he would fix his hair. Jordan sat behind me, cleared his throat which broke me out of my trance. He was Derek's best friend.

"Stay away from him Lu, you wouldn't want Derek to know about you staring at another guy, now would you?" He said with an eye brow raised. I rolled my eyes and turned back around. Harry now- and-then would glance over at me then look away as if nothing happened. What was his problem? The bell rang, I jumped, I guess I'll have to get used to it again. I grabbed my bag, and birthday goodies and walked to the parking lot. It started to pour down rain. I started to run.

I opened the door and set my things down on the back seat. I look up at a group of boys surrounding another boy. I didn't think anything of it because thing just happens all the time. They were blocking my way so I just waited. All of a sudden, the group totally pounced, kicking and punching. After a while they left. A body that was lying on the floor. It was a surprise to see. I just stared. My eyes geared up. My cheeks were burning.

It was Harry
